आदिपुराणम् ज्वलत्योषधिजालेऽपि निशि नाभ्येति किन्नरः । तमोविशङ्कयाऽस्यागुरिन्द्रनीलमयीस्तटीः ॥५०॥ हरिन्मणितटोत्सर्पन्मयूखानत्र भूधरे । तृणाङ्करधियोपेत्य मृगा यान्ति विलक्ष्यताम् ॥५६॥ सरोजराग रत्नांशुच्छरिता वनराजयः । तताः संध्यातपेनेव पुष्णन्तीह परां श्रियम् ॥६०॥ सूर्यांशुभिः परामृष्टाः सूर्यकान्ता ज्वलन्त्यमी। प्रायस्तेजस्विसंपर्कस्तेजः पुष्णाति तादृशम् ॥६१॥ इहेन्दुकरसंस्पर्शात्प्रक्षरन्तोऽप्यनुक्षपम् । चन्द्रकान्ता न हीयन्ते विचित्रा पुद्गलस्थितिः ॥१२॥ सुराणामभिगम्यत्वात् सिंहासनपरिग्रहात् । महत्त्वादचलत्वाच्च गिरिरेष जिनायते ॥६३॥ शुद्धस्फटिकसंकाशनिर्मलोदारविग्रहः । शुद्धात्मेव शिवायास्तु तवायमचलाधिपः ॥६४॥ इति शंसति तस्याः परां शोमा पुरोधसि । शंसाद्भूत इवानन्दं परं प्राप परंतपः ॥६५॥ किंचिच्चान्तरमुल्लङ्घय प्रसन्नेनान्तरात्मना । प्रत्यासन्नजिनास्थानं विदामास विदांवरः ॥६६॥ निपतत्पुष्पवर्षेण दुन्दुभीनां च निःस्वनैः । विदांबभूव लोकेशमभ्यासकृतसंनिधिम् ॥६७॥
किनारेके समीप संचार करते हुए नक्षत्रोंके समूहपर मणियोंकी कान्ति पड़ रही है जिससे वे मणियोंके समान ही जान पड़ते हैं, पृथक् रूपसे दिखाई नहीं देते हैं ॥५७॥ यद्यपि यहाँ रात्रिके समय ओषधियोंका समूह प्रकाशमान रहता है तथापि किन्नर जातिके देव अन्धकारकी आशंकासे इन्द्रनील मणियोंके बने हुए इस पर्वतके किनारोंके सम्मुख नहीं जाते हैं ॥५८॥ इस पर्वतपर हरित मणियोंके बने हुए किनारोंकी फैलती हुई किरणोंको हरी घासके अंकुर समझकर हरिण आते हैं परन्तु घास न मिलनेसे बहुत ही आश्चर्य और लज्जाको प्राप्त होते हैं ॥५९॥ इधर पद्मराग मणियोंकी किरणों-सी व्याप्त हई वनकी पंक्तियाँ ऐसी उत्कृष्ट शोभा धारण कर रही हैं मानो उनपर सन्ध्याकालकी लाल-लाल धूप ही फैल रही हो ॥६०॥ ये सूर्यकान्त मणि सूर्यको किरणोंका स्पर्श पाकर जल रही हैं सो ठीक ही है क्योंकि प्रायः तेजस्वी पदार्थका सम्बन्ध तेजस्वी पदार्थके तेजको पुष्ट कर देता है ॥६१।। इस पर्वतपर चन्द्रमाकी किरणोंका स्पर्श होनेपर चन्द्रकान्त मणियोंसे यद्यपि प्रत्येक रात्रिको पानी झरता है तथापि ये कुछ भी कम नहीं होते सो ठीक ही है क्योंकि पुद्गलका स्वभाव बड़ा ही विचित्र है ॥६२॥ अथवा यह पर्वत ठीक जिनेन्द्रदेवके समान जान पड़ता है क्योंकि जिस प्रकार जिनेन्द्र देवके समीप देव आते हैं उसी प्रकार इस पर्वतपर भी देव आते हैं, जिस प्रकार जिनेन्द्रदेवने सिंहासन स्वीकार किया है उसी प्रकार इस पर्वतने भी सिंहासन अर्थात् सिंहके आसनोंको स्वीकार किया है - इसपर जहाँ-तहाँ सिंह बैठे हुए हैं अथवा सिंह और असन वृक्ष स्वीकार किये हैं, जिस प्रकार जिनेन्द्रदेव महान् अर्थात् उत्कृष्ट हैं उसी प्रकार यह पर्वत भी महान् अर्थात् ऊँचा है और जिनेन्द्रदेव जिस प्रकार अचल अर्थात अपने स्वरूपमें स्थिर हैं उसी प्रकार यह पर्वत भी अचल अर्थात स्थिर है ।।.६३।। हे देव, जिसका उदार शरीर शुद्ध स्फटिकके समान निर्मल है ऐसा यह पर्वतराज कैलास शुद्धात्माकी तरह आपका कल्याण करनेवाला हो ॥६४॥ इस प्रकार जब पुरोहितने उस पर्वतकी उत्कृष्ट शोभाका वर्णन किया तब शत्रुओंको सन्तप्त करनेवाले महाराज भरत इस प्रकार परम आनन्दको प्राप्त हुए मानो सुखरूप ही हो गये हों ॥६५॥ विद्वानोंमें श्रेष्ठ भरत चक्रवर्ती प्रसन्न चित्तसे कुछ ही आगे बढ़े थे कि उन्हें वहाँ समीप ही जिनेन्द्रदेवका समवसरण जान पडा ॥६६॥ ऊपरसे पड़ती हुई पुष्पवृष्टिसे और दुन्दुभि बाजोंके शब्दोंसे उन्होंने जान १ विस्मयताम् । २ पद्मराग । ३ मिश्रिताः। ४ वर्द्धयन्ति । ५ रात्रौ रात्रौ। ६ न कृशा भवन्ति । ७ हरिविष्टरस्वीकारात्, पक्षे सिंहानामशनवृक्षाणां च स्वीकारात् । ८ स्तुति कुर्वति सति । ९ सुखायत्तः। १० परं शत्रु तापयतीति परंतपश्चक्री । ११ जानाति स्म । १२ समोपविहितस्थितिम् ।

Even though the group of herbs is ablaze at night, the Kinnara deities do not approach the shores of this mountain made of Indranila gems, fearing darkness. ||50||
The rays emanating from the shores of this mountain, made of green gems, are mistaken for grass sprouts by deer, who approach them, only to be met with great surprise and shame when they find no grass. ||56||
The rows of trees here, filled with the radiance of ruby gems, possess such exquisite beauty as if the reddish glow of twilight is spread over them. ||60||
These Suryakanta gems are ablaze, touched by the rays of the sun, which is only natural, as contact with a luminous object usually nourishes the luminosity of the object in question. ||61||
Even though water flows from the Chandrakant gems on this mountain every night, touched by the rays of the moon, they do not diminish in any way, which is only natural, as the nature of matter is very strange. ||62||
Or, this mountain seems just like the Jina, because just as deities approach the Jina, so too do they approach this mountain. Just as the Jina has accepted the throne, so too has this mountain accepted the throne, i.e., the seats of lions - lions are seated here and there, or, it has accepted lion and Asana trees. Just as the Jina is great, i.e., excellent, so too is this mountain great, i.e., high. And just as the Jina is immovable, i.e., stable in his form, so too is this mountain immovable, i.e., stable. ||63||
O deity, this mountain king Kailasa, whose generous body is pure and clear like pure crystal, is like a pure soul, working for your welfare. ||64||
Thus, when the priest described the excellent beauty of that mountain, King Bharat, who tormented his enemies, attained supreme joy, as if he had become happiness itself. ||65||
The best of the learned, Bharat Chakravarti, had moved forward a little with a happy mind, when he saw the Jina's assembly nearby. ||66||
He knew of the Jina's assembly nearby, due to the shower of flowers falling from above and the sound of the drums. ||67||
