पञ्चदशं पर्व
३४३ हसन्निवाधरं कायमूर्ध्वकायोऽस्य दिद्युते । कटकाङ्गदकयूरहारायैः स्वैविभूपणैः ॥१९९॥ वर्णिते पूर्वकायेऽस्य कायो व्यावर्णितोऽधरः । यथोपरि तथाधश्च ननु श्रीः कल्पपादपे ॥२०॥ पुनरुक्तं तथाप्यस्य क्रियते वर्णनादरः। पङक्तिभेदे महान् दोषः स्यादित्युद्देशमात्रतः ॥२०१॥ लावण्यरसनिष्यन्देवाहिनी नाभिकूपिकाम् । स बभारापतत्कायगन्धेमस्येव पद्धतिम् ॥२०२॥ स शाररसनोल्लासिदुकूलं जघनं दधौ । सेन्द्रचापशरन्मेघनितम्बमिव मन्दरः ॥२०३॥ पीवरौ स बमारोरू युक्तायामौ कनद्युती । मनोभुवेव विन्यस्ती स्तम्मो स्वे वासवेश्मनि ॥२०४॥ जो सुरुचिराकारे चारुकान्ती दधेऽधिराट । उद्वर्त्य कणयेनेव घटिते चित्तजन्मना ॥२०५॥ तस्पदाम्बुजयोर्युग्ममध्युवासानपायिनी । लक्ष्मी गाङ्गनेवाविर्भवदङ्गुलिपत्रकम् ॥२०६॥ तत्क्रमौ रेजतुः कान्स्या लक्ष्मी जित्वाम्बुजन्मनः । प्रहासमिव तन्वानौ नखोद्योतैर्विसारिभिः ।।२०७॥ चक्रच्छन्त्रासिदण्डादिरत्नान्यस्य पदाब्जयोः । लग्नानि लक्षणव्याजात् पूर्वसेवामिव भ्यधुः ॥२०८॥
समाक्रान्तधराचक्रः क्रमयोरेव विक्रमः । सर्वाङ्गीणस्तु केनास्य "सोढपूर्वः स मानिनः ॥२०९॥ नदीके प्रवाहसे हिमालय सुशोभित रहता है ॥१९८।। उसके शरीरका ऊपरी भाग कड़े, अनन्त, बाजूबन्द और हार आदि अपने-अपने आभूषणोंसे ऐसा देदीप्यमान हो रहा था मानो अपने अधोभागकी ओर हँस ही रहा हो ॥१९९।। राजकुमार भरतके शरीरके ऊपरी भागका जैसा कुछ वर्णन किया गया है वैसा ही उसके नीचेके भागका वर्णन समझ लेना चाहिए क्योंकि कल्पवृक्षकी शोभा जैसी ऊपर होती है वैसी ही उसके नीचे भी होती है ।।२०।। यद्यपि ऊपर लिखे अनुसार उसके अधोभागका वर्णन हो चुका है तथापि उद्देशके अनुसार पुनरुक्त रूपसे उसका वर्णन फिर भी किया जाता है क्योंकि वर्णन करते-करते समूहमें-से किसी एक भागका छोड़ देना भी बड़ा भारीदोष है।।२०।। लावण्यरूपी रसके प्रवाहको धारण करनेवाली उसकी नाभिरूपी कूपिका ऐसीसुशोभित होती थी मानो आनेवाले कामदेवरूपी मदोन्मत्त हाथीका मार्ग ही हो ॥२०२॥ वह भरतश्रेष्ठ करधनीसे सुशोभित सफेद धोतीसे युक्त जघन भागको धारण कर रहा था जिससे ऐसा मालूम होता था मानो इन्द्रधनुषसे सहित शरद्ऋतुके वादलोंसे युक्त नितम्बभाग (मध्यभाग) को धारण करनेवाला मेरु पर्वत ही हो ॥२०३।। उसके दोनों ऊरू अत्यन्त स्थूल और सुदृढ़ थे, उनकी लम्बाई भी यथायोग्य थी, और उनका वर्ण भी सुवर्णके समान पीला था इसलिए वे ऐसे मालूम होते थे मानो कामदेवने अपने मन्दिर में दो खम्भे ही लगाये हों ॥२०४|| उस भरतकी दोनों जंघाएँ भी अतिशय मनोहर आकारवाली और सुन्दर कान्तिकी धारक थीं तथा ऐसी मालूम होती थीं मानो कामदेवने उन्हें हथियारसे छीलकर गोल ही कर ली हो ।।२०५।। उसके दोनों चरण प्रकट होते हुए अंगुलिरूपी पत्तोंसे सहित कमलके समान सुशोभित होते थे और उनमें कभी नष्ट नहीं होनेवाली लक्ष्मी भ्रमरीके समान सदा निवास करती थी॥२०६।। उसके दोनों ही पैर ऐसे शोभायमान हो रहे थे मानो अपनी कान्तिसे कमलकी शोभा जोतकर अपने फैलते हुए नखोंके प्रकाशसे उसकी हँसी ही कर रहे हों।।२०७।। उसके चरण-कमलोंमें चक्र, छत्र, तलवार, दण्ड आदि चौदह रत्नोंके चिह्न बने हुए थे और वे ऐसे जान पड़ते थे मानो ये चौदह रत्न. लक्षणोंके छलसे भावी चक्रवर्तीकी पहलेसे ही सेवा कर रहे हों ॥२०८॥ केवल उसके चरणोंका पराक्रम समस्त पृथिवीमण्डलपर आक्रमण करनेवाला था, फिर भला उस अभिमानी भरतके सम्पूर्ण शरीरका पराक्रम

**343** His upper body, adorned with his own ornaments like a tight-fitting garment, a bracelet, an armlet, and a necklace, was shining brightly, as if laughing at his lower body. ||199||

**202** His navel, a well that held the flow of the essence of beauty, was so beautiful that it seemed to be the path of the intoxicated elephant, the embodiment of Kamadeva, who was about to arrive. ||202||

**203** He wore a white dhoti, adorned with a belt, on his hips, which made him look like Mount Meru, bearing the weight of the autumn clouds, adorned with rainbows, and the buttocks (middle part). ||203||

**204** His two thighs were very thick and strong, their length was appropriate, and their color was yellow like gold. Therefore, they seemed as if Kamadeva had placed two pillars in his temple. ||204||

**205** The two shanks of that Bharat were also extremely beautiful in shape and possessed a beautiful luster. They seemed as if Kamadeva had peeled them with a weapon and made them round. ||205||

**206** His two feet, appearing like lotus flowers with petals in the form of fingers, were adorned with Lakshmi, who never left them, like a bee in a lotus flower. ||206||

**207** His two feet were shining brightly, as if they were laughing at the lotus flower, having conquered its beauty with their own radiance, which spread out from the light of their nails. ||207||

**208** The marks of fourteen jewels, such as a wheel, an umbrella, a sword, and a staff, were engraved on his lotus feet. They seemed as if these fourteen jewels were serving the future Chakravarti, through the deception of signs, from before. ||208||

**209** The power of his feet alone was capable of conquering the entire earth. What then was the power of the entire body of this proud Bharat? ||209||
