आदिपुराणम् प्रीतिकण्टकिता भेजे पमिनीवार्कमुद्रयम् । प्राणनाथं जगत्प्राणिस्वान्तध्वान्तनुदं विभुम् ॥१२०॥ तमुपेत्य सुखासीना स्वोचिते भद्रविष्टरे । लक्ष्मीरिव रुचिं भेजे भर्तुरभ्यर्णवर्तिनी ॥१२॥ सा पत्यै स्वप्नमालां तां यथादृष्टं न्यवेदयत् । दिग्यचक्षुरसौ देवस्तत्फलानीत्यभाषत ॥१२२॥ त्वं देवि पुत्रमाप्तासि गिरीन्द्राचक्रवर्तिनम् । तस्य प्रतापितामर्कः शास्तीन्दुः कान्तिसंपदम् ॥१२॥ सरोजाक्षि सरोदृष्टेरसौ पङ्कजवासिनीम् । वोढा म्यूढोरसा पुण्यलक्षणालितविग्रहः ॥१२॥ महीग्रसनतः कृत्स्ना महीं सागरवाससम् । प्रतिपालयिता देवि विश्वराट तव पुत्रकः॥१२५॥ सागराचरमाङ्गोऽसौ तरिता जन्मसागरम् । ज्यायान् पुत्रशतस्यायमिक्ष्वाकुकुलनन्दनः रक्षा इति श्रुत्वा वचो भर्तुः सा तदा प्रमदोदयात् । ववृधे जलधेला यथेन्दौ समुदेष्यति ॥१२॥ तत: सर्वार्थसिद्धिस्थो योऽसौ व्याघ्रचरः सुरः । सुबाहुरहमिन्द्रोऽतच्युत्वा-सद्गर्भमावसत् ॥१२८॥ सा गर्भमवह देवी देवाद् दिग्यानुभावजम् । येन नासहतार्क च समाक्रामन्तमम्बरे ॥१२९॥ सापश्यत् स्वमुखच्छायां वीरसूरसिदपणे । तत्र प्रातीपिकी स्वां च छायां नासोढ मानिनी ॥१३०॥
अन्तर्वत्नीमपश्यत् तां पतिरुत्सुकया दृशा । जलग मिवाम्मोदमालां काले शिखाबलः ३१॥ दूर करनेवाले अतिशय प्रकाशमान और सबके स्वामी भगवान् वृषभदेवके समीप उस प्रकार पहुँची जिस प्रकार कमलिनी संसारके मध्यवर्ती अन्धकारको नष्ट करनेवाले और अतिशय प्रकाशमान सूर्यके सम्मुख पहुँचती है ॥११९-१२०॥ भगवान्के समीप जाकर वह महादेवी अपने योग्य सिंहासनपर सुखपूर्वक बैठ गयी। उस समय महादेवी साक्षात् लक्ष्मीके समान सुशोभित हो रही थी ।।१२१।। तदनन्तर उसने रात्रिके समय देखे हुए समस्त स्वप्न भगवान्से निवेदन किये और अवधि-ज्ञानरूपी दिव्य नेत्र धारण करनेवाले भगवान्ने भी नीचे लिखे अनुसार उन स्वप्नोंका फल कहा कि ॥१२२।। हे देवि, स्वप्नोंमें जो तूने सुमेरु पर्वत देखा है उससे मालूम होता है कि तेरे चक्रवर्ती पुत्र होगा। सूर्य उसके प्रतापको और चन्द्रमा उसकी कान्तिरूपी सम्पदाको सूचित कर रहा है ।।१२।। हे कमलनयने, सरोवरके देखनेसे तेरा पुत्र अनेक पवित्र लक्षणोंसे चिह्नितशरीर होकर अपने विस्तृत वक्षःस्थलपर कमलवासिनी लक्ष्मीको धारण करनेवाला होगा ॥१२४॥ हे देवि, पृथिवीका प्रसा जाना देखनेसे मालूम होता है कि तुम्हारा वह पुत्र चक्रवर्ती होकर समुद्ररूपी वस्त्रको धारण करनेवाली समस्त पृथिवीका पालन करेगा ॥१२५।। और समुद्र देखनेसे प्रकट होता है कि वह चरमशरीरी होकर संसाररूपी समुद्रको पार करनेवाला होगा। इसके सिवाय इक्ष्वाकु-वंशको आनन्द देनेवाला वह पुत्र तेरे सौ पुत्रों में सबसे ज्येष्ठ पुत्र होगा ।।१२६।। इस प्रकार पतिके वचन सुनकर उस समय वह देवी हर्षके उदयसे ऐसी वृद्धिको प्राप्त हुई थी जैसी कि चन्द्रमाका उदय होनेपर समुद्रकी बेला वृद्धिको प्राप्त होती है ।।१२७॥
तदनन्तर राजा अतिगृद्धका जीव जो पहले व्याघ्र था, फिर देव हुआ, फिर सुबाहु हुआ और फिर सर्वार्थसिद्धिमें अहमिन्द्र हुआ था, वहाँसे च्युत होकर यशस्वती महादेवीके गर्भमें आकर निवास करने लगा ॥१२८।। वह देवी भगवान् वृषभदेवके दिव्य प्रभावसे उत्पन्न हुए गर्भको धारण कर रही थी। यही कारण था कि वह अपने ऊपर आकाशमें चलते हुए सूर्यको भी सहन नहीं करती थी ।।२२९।। वीर पुत्रको पैदा करनेवाली वह देवी अपने मुखकी कान्ति तलवाररूपी दर्पणमें देखती थी और अतिशय मान करनेवाली वह उस तलवारमें पड़ती हुई अपनी प्रतिकूल छायाको भी नहीं सहन कर सकती थी ॥१३०॥ जिस प्रकार वर्षाका समय आनेपर मयूर जलसे भरी हुई मेघमालाको बड़ी ही उत्सुक दृष्टि से देखते हैं उसी प्रकार भगवान्
