आदिपुराणम्
यूयं कब्रुकिनो वृद्धा मध्येऽन्तः पुरयोषिताम् । अङ्गरक्षानियोगं स्वमशून्यं कुरुतादृताः ॥१२८॥ यूयमत्रैव पाश्चात्य कर्माण्येवानुतिष्ठत । यूयं समं समागत्य स्वान् नियोगान् प्रपश्यत ।। १२९ ।। देशाधिकारिणो गत्वा यूयं चोदयत व्रतम् । प्रतिग्रहीतुं भूनाथं सामग्या स्वानुरूपया ॥ १३० ॥ यूयं विभृत हस्स्यश्वं यूयं पालयतौट्रकम् । यूयं सवात्सकं भूरिक्षीरं रक्षत धेनुकम् ॥ १३१ ॥ यूयं जैनेश्वरीम रणत्रयपुरस्सराम् । यजेत शान्तिकं कर्म समाधाय महीक्षितः || १३२ || कृताभिषेचनाः सिद्धशेषां गन्धाम्बुमिश्रिताम् । यूयं क्षिपेत पुण्याशीः शान्तिघोषैः समं प्रमोः ॥१३३॥ यूयं नैमित्तिकाः सम्यग् निरूपितशुमोदयाः । प्रस्थानसमयं व्रत राज्ञो यात्रामसिद्धये ॥१३४॥ इति "तन्त्रनियुक्तानां तदा कोलाहलो महान् । "उदतिष्ठत् प्रयाणाय सामग्रीमनुतिष्ठताम् ॥१३५|| ततः करीन्द्रेस्तुरगैः पत्तिमिश्श्रोद्यतायुधैः । नृपाजिरमभूद् रुदं स्यन्दनैश्च समन्ततः ।। १३६ ।। सितातपत्रैर्मायूरपिच्छत्रै सूच्छ्रितैः । निरुद्धमभवद् म्योम घनैरिव सितासितैः ।। १३७ || छत्राणां निकुरम्बेण रुद्धं तेजोऽपि मास्वतः । सद्वृत्तसंनिधौ नूनं नामा' " तेजस्विनामपि ॥ १३८ ॥ रथानां वारणानां च केतवोऽ"म्योऽन्यतोऽश्लिषन् । पवनान्दोलिता दीर्घकालाद् दृष्ट्वेव " तोषिणः ।। १३९ ।। मछलियों सहित समुद्रकी तरङ्गोंके समान शोभायमान होते हुए बड़े प्रयत्नसे राजाके रनवासकी रक्षा करना । तुम वृद्ध कंचुकी लोग अन्तःपुरकी स्त्रियोंके मध्यमें रहकर बड़े आदर के साथ अंगरक्षाका कार्य करना । तुम लोग यहाँ ही रहना और पीछेके कार्य बड़ी सावधानी से करना । तुम साथ-साथ जाओ और अपने-अपने कार्य देखो। तुम लोग जाकर देशके अधिकारियोंसे इस बातकी शीघ्र ही प्रेरणा करो कि वे अपनी योग्यतानुसार सामग्री लेकर महाराजको लेनेके लिए आयें । मार्ग में तुम हाथियों और घोड़ोंकी रक्षा करना, तुम ऊँटोंका पालन करना और तुम बहुत दूध देनेवाली बछड़ोंसहित गायोंकी रक्षा करना । तुम महाराजके लिए शान्तिवाचन करके रत्नत्रयके साथ-साथ जिनेन्द्रदेवकी प्रतिमाकी पूजा करो। तुम पहले जिनेन्द्रदेवका अभिषेक करो और फिर शान्तिवाचनके साथ-साथ पवित्र आशीर्वाद देते हुए महाराजके मस्तकपर गन्धोदकसे मिले हुए सिद्धोंके शेषाक्षत क्षेपण करो। तुम ज्योतिषी लोग ग्रहोंके शुभोदय आदिका अच्छा निरूपण करते हो इसलिए महाराजकी यात्राकी सफलता के लिए प्रस्थानका उत्तम समय बतलाओ । इस प्रकार उस समय वहाँ महाराज वज्रजंधके प्रस्थानके लिए सामग्री इकट्ठी करनेवाले कर्मचारियोंका भारी कोलाहल हो रहा था ।। ११९-१३५ ।। तदनन्तर राजभवनके आगेका चौक हाथी, घोड़े, रथ और हथियार लिये हुए पियादों से खचाखच भर गया था ।। १३६ । उस समय ऊपर उठे हुए सफेद छत्रोंसे तथा मयूरपिच्छके बने हुए नीलेनीले छत्रोंसे आकाश व्याप्त हो गया था जिससे वह ऐसा जान पड़ता था मानो कुछ सफेद और कुछ काले मेघोंसे ही व्याप्त हो गया हो ॥ १३७ ॥ उस समय तने हुए छत्रोंके समूहसे सूर्यका तेज भी रुक गया था सो ठीक ही है। सद्वृत्त—सदाचारी पुरुषोंके समीप तेजस्वी पुरुषोंका भी तेज नहीं ठहर पाता । छत्र भी सद्वृत्त - सदाचारी ( पक्षमें ) गोल थे इसलिए उनके समीप सूर्यका तेज नहीं ठहर पाया था ॥ १३८॥ उस समय रथों और हाथियोंपर लगी हुई पताकाएँ वायुके वेगसे हिलती हुई आपसमें मिल रही थीं जिससे ऐसी जान पड़ती थीं मानो बहुत समय बाद एक दूसरेको देखकर सन्तुष्ट हो परस्परमें मिल ही रहीं
