________________ 168 ભગવચ્છંકરાચાર્ય ચરિત. That which is neither small, nor large, neither short nor long neithar subject to birth nor to destruction, that which is without forin, without qualities without colour, without name, may one know it. it is Brahina. જે વરતુ સૂક્ષમ નથી, સ્થૂલ નથી, ટુંકી નથી, લાંબી નથી તથા જે જન્મ રહિત અવિનાશી છે, રૂપ રહિત છે, ગુણ રહિત છે, વણ રહિત છે, તેજ બ્રહ્મ છે, એમ નિશ્ચય જાણવું. यद्भासा भासतेऽर्कादिर्भास्यैर्यत्तु न भास्यते / येन सर्वमिदं भाति तद्ब्रह्मत्यवधारयेत् // That by the splendour of which the sun and the stars shine, whilst it itself derives no light from their light; that by which all things are illuminated may one know it.it is Brahma. જેના પ્રકાશ વડે સૂર્ય વિગેરે પ્રકાશે છે, પરંતુ જેના પ્રકાશવડે પ્રકાશ પામનારા સૂર્ય વિગેરે વડે જે પ્રકાશ પામતું નથી. અને જે વડે આ સંપૂર્ણ જગત્ પ્રકાશે છે તે બ્રહ્મ છે. . એમ જાણવું. स्वयमतर्वहिाप्य भासयन्नखिलं जगत् / / ब्रह्म प्रकाशते वन्हितंप्तायसींपडवत् // Penetrating everywhere, within,and without, illum. inating the whole universe, Brahma shines afar like a globe of iron rendered meandescent by flame જેમ અગ્નિવડે તપાવેલા લોઢાના ગળામાં અગ્નિ, બહાર તથા અંદર વ્યાપીને પ્રકાશે છે તેમજ બ્રહ્મ, સંપૂર્ણ જગત્ની માંહે તથા બહાર વ્યાપ્ત થઈ પિતે પ્રકાશે છે તથા જગને પણ પ્રકાશિત કરે છે.
