It has about 650 steps. There are 7 types of monuments - eight small and large temples, four mandapas, two ponds, five gateways, three pillars, two arches and 172 inscriptions in Kannada, Sanskrit, Marvadi Mahajani, Tamil, Manipravala and Marathi dating from the late 10th to 19th century A.D. CHANDRAGIRI विन्ध्यगिरि बाहुबली की भव्य प्रतिमा को धारण करने वाली गौरवशाली विन्ध्यगिरि को कुछ अन्य नामों से भी जाना जाता है जैसे इन्द्रगिरि, पेरिय कलबप्पू या डोडा बेट्टा। इसमें लगभग 650 सोपान हैं। यहां सात प्रकार के स्मारक हैं-आठ छोटे-बड़े मंदिर, दो तालाब, पांच द्वार मागे, तीन स्तम्भ, दो मेहराब और 172 शिलालेख जो कन्नड, संस्कृत, मारवाड़ी महाजनी, तमिल, मणिप्रवाल और मराठी भाषाओं में है। इनका रचनाकाल 10वीं से 19वीं शताब्दी है। चन्द्रगिरि चिक्का बेट्टा (छोटी पहाड़ी) नाम से प्रसिद्ध यह पहाड़ी विन्ध्यगिरि की तुलना में अधिक इतिहास को समेटे हुए है। यहाँ बहुत से मुनियों के चरणचिन्ह हैं जिन्होंने सल्लेखना द्वारा अपने जीवन का अंत किया। पूज्य भद्रबाहु की गुफा और विशाखाचार्य (जो पहले सम्राट चन्द्रगुप्त मौर्य ही थे) के चरण चिहनों के यहां होने से इसे दिव्य भी कहा जा सकता है। यह पहाडी 200 फुट ऊँची है जिसमें 92 सोपान हैं। यहां 14 मंदिर हैं. जिन्हें बसदी कहा जाता है, जिनका निर्माणकाल 9वीं शताब्दी से है। यह विन्ध्यगिरि से ऊँचाई में 294 फुट छोटी है। यह समुद्रतल से 175 फुट ऊपर है। इस पर लगभग 800 शिलालेख हैं। Known as Chikka Betta (small hill) has more ancient history than Vindhyagiri. Here lay footprints of several Munis who ended their life through sallekhana. It is indeed divine with the cave of the revered Bhadrabahu and footprints of Visakhacharya who was the Samrat Chandragupta Maurya. The hill is of 200 feet high containing 92 steps. There are 14 temples called Basadi dating from 9th cent. A.D. It is smaller than Vindhyagiri by 294 feet in height. It is about 175 feet above the sea level. It has about 800 inscriptions. [25]
