(૧લ્ડ) ઉપરના પ્રમાણેથી સિદ્ધ થાય છે કે લાઢ દેશ બંગાળમાં આવ્યો હતો અને તે દેશની અંતર્ગત આવેલા પ્રદેશને અનાર્યભૂમિ-વભૂમિ માની છે.
લાઢ દેશને નિર્ણય થયા પછી વજભૂમિ કયાં આવી તેને નિર્ણય કરીએ.
(8) The land of the Submas is mentioned for the first time probably in the Ayaränga Satta, which is one of the oldest sacred books of the Jainas. It is stated therein that Mahavira travelled in the pathless countries of the Ladhas, in Vajjabhumi and Subhabhumi, where he was very rudely treated by the people. This Lādba, doubtless, is identical with what latter on came to be known as Radha, and Subhabhumi with the country of the Suhma people.
જેનોના એક સાથી પ્રાચીન અને પવિત્ર ગ્રન્થ આચારાંગ સૂત્રમાં સુહભૂમિ સંબંધી પ્રાયઃ સૌથી પ્રથમ નિર્દેશ થયેલ છે. મહાવીરે લાઢ દેશ–વભૂમિ અને સુબ્લભૂમિના માગહીન પ્રદેશમાં વિહાર કર્યો હતો. જનતાએ તેમના પ્રત્યે અત્યંત અસભ્ય વર્તન દાખવ્યું હતું, એમ મજકુર ગ્રંથમાં જણાવ્યું છે. આ લાઢ દેશ અને (પાછળથી) રાત દેશ તરીકે ઓળખાતે દેશ એ બન્ને એક જ છે એ નિઃસંદેહ છે.
