સ્થિરાદષ્ટિ : “g જે તાણ ”—-બાકી બધો ઉપષ્ણવ
(૪૮૫) પર છે, ને તે ઉપપ્પવરૂપ છે. ઉપપ્લવ એટલે અંધાધુંધી, આફત, બાકી બધે આપત્તિ, દુર્ભાગ્ય, વિજ્ઞ, ભય, ક્ષોભ-ખળભળાટ, અરિષ્ટ, ગ્રહ ઈત્યાદિ. ઉપપ્લવ કેવલ જ્ઞાનતિ સિવાયના જે જે ભાવે છે–પરભાવે છે, તે તે ખરેખર!
ઉપપ્પવરૂપ જ છે. જેમ કેઈ પરચકના આક્રમણથી નગરમાં ઉપપ્લવ મચી રહે, અંધાધુંધી ફેલાઈ જાય, ખળભળાટ વ્યાપી જાય, નાશભાગ થઈ રહે, સંપત્તિ લૂંટાઈ જાય, ને વિપત્તિનો પાર રહે નહિં; તેમ પરવસ્તુના આક્રમણથી આ ચૈતન્યમય પુરુષના ચૈતન્યપુરમાં ઉપપ્લવ મચે છે, આત્મપ્રદેશપરિસ્પંદરૂપ સંક્ષેભ ઉપજે છે, અજ્ઞાનની અંધાધુંધી વ્યાપે છે, આત્માના જ્ઞાન-દર્શનાદિ ગુણરત્નોનો ખજાન લૂંટાય છે, અને અનંત ભવપરિભ્રમણરૂપ આપત્તિને પાર રહેતો નથી. “પારકે પેઠો વિનાશ કરે” તે કહેવત અત્ર સાચી પડે છે !
"परः प्रविष्टः कुरुते विनाशम्, लोकोक्तिरेषा न मृषेति मन्ये ।
નિર્વિરા જુમિયા વિક્ર જિં, જ્ઞાનાનો ને સમારિ વષ્ટ ”—શ્રી શાંતસુધારસ. આ કર્માદિ પરભાવ તે બાહ્ય ભાવો છે, ખરેખર ! પર છે અર્થાત્ શત્રુનું કામ કરતા હોવાથી “પર” છે, આત્માના ભાવશત્રુ છે. પરમાર્થથી આત્માને એની સાથે કાંઈ લેવાદેવા નથી. પણ અનાદિ અધ્યાસની કુવાસનાથી તેમાં અહેવમમત્વ કરીને તે બંધાય છે. તે એટલે સુધી કે પરપરિણતિના રાગીપણે, તે પરરસના રંગથી રક્ત થાય છે, પરરસરંગે રંગાઈ જાય છે, અને પરને ગ્રાહક તથા રક્ષક બની પરભેગમાં આસક્ત બને છે! આ પરપરિણતિના રંગથી જ આ જીવ અનંત દુ:ખ પામે છે. એટલે આ પરભાવરૂપ પરચક્રનું આક્રમણ ખરેખર ! ઉપપ્પવરૂપ છે, આફત છે, આપત્તિ છે, દુર્ભાગ્યરૂપ છે, વિશ્વરૂપ-બાધારૂપ છે, અરિષ્ટ-અનિષ્ટરૂપ છે, ગ્રહરૂપ છે, અંધાધુંધીરૂપ છે.
પર પરિણતિ રાગીપણું, પર રસ રંગે રક્ત રે, પર ગ્રાહક રક્ષકપણે, પરભેગે આસક્ત રે...જગતારક પ્રભુ વિનવું” શ્રી દેવચંદ્રજી.

સંજોગલક્ષણ ભાવે તે બાહ્ય છે–આત્મબાહ્ય છે, મહારા આત્માને તેની તારો સાથે કંઈ લેવાદેવા નથી–કંઈ નિસ્બત નથી. એમ સમજી તે પરપરિણતિ આપા' ત્યજે છે, ને આત્મપરિણતિને ભજે છે પરમાત્મસ્વરૂપ શુદ્ધ સ્વજાતિ
