ગદસિમુચ્ચય છે? તે અધિદૈવ શું છે? આ દેહમાં રહેલ તે અધિયજ્ઞ કરણ કેવી રીતે છે? નિયતાત્મા યોગીઓથી તમે પ્રયાણકાલે કેવી રીતે જાણી શકાય છે?*
“નથી દૃષ્ટિમાં આવતે, નથી જણાતું રૂપ; બીજે પણ અનુભવ નહિ, તેથી ન જીવ સ્વરૂપ માટે છે નહિં આતમા, મિથ્યા મેક્ષ ઉપાય; એ અંતર શંકા તણે, સમજાવે સદુપાય.”—શ્રી આત્મસિદ્ધિ મુનિસુવ્રત જિનરાજ ! મુજ એક વિનતિ નિસુણો! આતમતવ કયું જાણ્યું જગતગુરુ ! એહ વિચાર મુજ કહિયે; આતમતત્વ જાણ્યા વિણ નિર્મલ, ચિત્ત સમાધિ ના લહિયે...મુનિસુવ્રત “ધરમ પરમ અરનાથને, કિમ જાણુ ભગવંત રે;
સ્વાર સમજાવિયે મહિમાવંત મહંતરે-ધરમ”-શ્રી આનંદઘનજી ઈત્યાદિ પ્રકારે આ સાચે તત્ત્વપિપાસુ-તત્ત્વરસિક પુરુષ પોતાની શ્રવણેછા વ્યક્ત કરે છે. અને આ પરમ અમૃત જેવી તત્વવાર્તાના શ્રવણમાં આ મુમુક્ષુ યોગીને એટલે આનંદ આવે છે, તેને અનંતમે ભાગ પણ તે ભવાભિનંદી ભેગીને દિવ્ય સંગીત સાંભળવામાં આવતું નથી !
અને આ (શુશ્રષા) આવા પ્રકારની હોય છે, એટલા માટે કહે છે–
बोधाम्भःस्रोतसश्चैषा सिरातुल्या सतां मता । अभाऽवेस्याः श्रुतं व्यर्थ मसिरावनिकूपवत् ॥ ५३॥ બધ સ્રોત સ તુલ્ય આ, એ વિણ શ્રવણ વૃથા જ; સરવાણી વિણ અવનિમાં, ૫ ખેદ યથા જ, પ૩,
વૃત્તિ:- વધામઃન્નોતરો–બેધરૂપ જલ–સ્રોતની, બોધરૂપ પાણીના પ્રવાહની, વૈશા-અને આ, શુશ્રષા, ઉતરાવજ્યા-સિરા તુલ્ય, સરવાણી સમાન,–અવંધ્ય ને અક્ષય એવા તેના બીજના ય૫ણાએ કરીને સત્તાં મતા-સંતને, મુનિઓને મત છે, ઈષ્ટ છે. અમાવેડા :-આના, શુશ્રષાના અભાવે, શું? તે કે-શ્રુતં ય" --સાંભળેલું વ્યર્થ છે, શ્રમફલવાળું છે. કોની જેમ ? તે કે–અસિરાનિવ7-સરવાણી વિનાની પૃથ્વીમાં કવાની જેમ. તેમાં કવો બાદ તે ન ખેધા બરાબર જ છે. કારણ કે તેનું ફળ નથી તેટલા માટે. * “ किं तद् ब्रह्म किमध्यात्म किं कर्म पुरुषोत्तम ।
