મિત્રાદષ્ટિ જ્ઞાનીને આશય, પુરુષાર્થ પ્રેરણા
(૧૫૩) ભવચક્રનો છેલે આંટે છે, એમ જાણવું. આ બાહ્ય ચિહ્નો પરથી ભવસાર બોધ ચક્રને છેલ્લો ફેરે બાકી છે, એવું અનુમાન થઈ શકે છે. બાકી વિશેષ
તે અતીંદ્રિય એવા યોગીજ્ઞાનને ગમ્ય છે. માટે ચરમાવર્તામાં આવવું હોય, ભવને છેલે ફેરે કરવો હોય, ને ગબીજની વાવણી કરવી હોય, તે આ લક્ષણોગુણ આત્મામાં પરિણમાવવા જોઈએ: દુઃખીની અત્યંત દયાથી હૃદયને કમળ-આ કરવું જોઈએ, ગુણ–અષથી ચિત્તભૂમિ ચેખી કરવી જોઈએ, ને સર્વ જીવની યાચિત સેવા કરી વિશ્વવત્સલ બનવું જોઈએ. એમ આ ઉપરથી મહાત્મા શાસ્ત્રકારે બોધ આપ્યો.
અને આ ઉપરથી એટલું પણ ખાસ લક્ષમાં લેવા યોગ્ય છે કે-કાળસ્થિતિ પાકશે, ભવપરિણતિ પરિપાક થશે, ભવની મુદત પૂરી થશે, ત્યારે આપણે માર્ગ પામશું, માટે આપણે તે તેની રાહ જોયા કરશું,-એવું ખોટું આલંબન પકડી આળસુ–પ્રમાદી થવા લાગ્યા નથી. પાદપ્રસારિકા અવલંબવા યોગ્ય નથી, હાથ જોડી બેસી રહી પુરુષાર્થહીન થવા યોગ્ય નથી, જ્ઞાની પુરુષોએ કાળલબ્ધિપરિપાક વગેરે કહ્યા છે, તેને ઊલટો અનર્થકારી અર્થ કરવા ગ્ય નથી. જ્ઞાની પુરુષને ઉપદેશ કદી પણ પુરુષાર્થહીનતા પ્રેરે જ નહિં; પુરુષાર્થની જાગ્રતિ જ પ્રેરે. માટે જ્ઞાનીને આશય સમજવો જોઈએ.
આપણી પોતાની તથાભવ્યતા કેવી છે, તે આપણે જાણતા નથી. પણ તે ભવ્યતાને પરિપાક કરવાને પુરુષાર્થ તે આપણા હાથમાં છે. એટલે કે આપણી ભવ્યતા–ોગ્યતા
- કેમ જલદી પકાવવી તેને પ્રયાસ આપણે કરી શકીએ એમ છીએ. પુરુષાર્થ પ્રેરણું આપણું પાત્રતા–ગ્યતા વધારીએ, એટલે એની મુદત એની મેળે
પાકશે, આપણે એની ચિંતા કરવાની જરૂર નથી. દાખલા તરીકે–અગમાં પાકવાની યેગ્યતા છે, પણ તે ચૂલે ચડાવીએ તો પાકે, એની મેળે કોઈ કાળે પાકે નહિ. તેમ ભવ્ય એવા આત્મામાં પણ ભવ્યતા-વ્યગ્રતા આણવાનો પ્રયાસ ન કરીએ, તે એની મેળે રેગ્યતા આવે નહિં. એટલા માટે જે પરમાર્થની ઇચ્છા હોય, તે કાળસ્થિતિ જેમ પાકે, ભવપરિણતિ પરિપાક થાય, આત્મામાં યોગ્યતા-પાત્રતા જેમ આવે તેવા ઉપાય લેવાને સત્ય પુરુષાર્થ કરવો જોઈએ, અને તેવા ઉપાયમાં પ્રાથમિકમાં પ્રાથમિક જે ઉપાયદયા વગેરે અહીં સ્પષ્ટ બતાવ્યા છે, તેનો આશ્રય કરી આત્માર્થ સાધવો જોઈએ; શુદ્ધ નિમિત્તકારણના પ્રબળ અવલંબનથી ઉપાદાન પ્રગટાવવું જોઈએ કે જેથી કરીને ભવપરિણતિ છેલ્લા પુદ્ગલાવર્તામાં આવી ઉભી રહે, ભવને છેલ્લે ફેરે બાકી રહે, ને તેમાં પણ જેમ બને તેમ એાછા ભવ કરવા પડે. આમ અત્રે ધ્વનિ છે. આની સાથે સંવાદી એવા પરમ પુરુષાર્થ પ્રેરક વીરગર્જનારૂપ સત્ય વચને વર્તમાનયુગના પરમ સંત-ભાવગી શ્રીમદ્ રાજચંદ્રજી જેવા જ્ઞાનાવતાર પુરુષે ઉચ્ચાર્યા છે –

Therefore, if one wants to enter the final cycle, to make the last turn of the cycle of births and deaths, and to sow the seeds of liberation, then these qualities should be cultivated in the soul: the heart should be filled with compassion for the suffering, the mind should be purified by virtue, and one should become a world-lover by serving all beings. This is the teaching of the great sage.
And from this, it is also important to note that we should not become lazy and procrastinate, thinking that we will attain the path when the time is ripe, the cycle of births and deaths is complete, and the time of our birth is over. It is not appropriate to rely on the passing of time, it is not appropriate to sit with folded hands and become inactive. The wise men have spoken of the ripening of time, the completion of the cycle of births and deaths, etc., but we should not interpret it in a way that is detrimental to our efforts. The wise man's teachings will never motivate inactivity; they will only motivate effort. Therefore, we should understand the intention of the wise.
We do not know what our future is like. But it is in our hands to make an effort to ripen that future. That is, we can try to hasten the ripening of our future. Let us make an effort to increase our worthiness and merit, so that the time will ripen on its own, and we need not worry about it. For example, a seed has the potential to ripen, but it will only ripen if it is planted in the ground. It will not ripen on its own. Similarly, the soul, which is capable of liberation, will not become liberated on its own unless we make an effort to bring about liberation. Therefore, if one desires liberation, one should make a sincere effort to take steps to ripen the time, to complete the cycle of births and deaths, and to bring about the worthiness and merit in the soul. The primary step in this effort is the compassion, etc., which is clearly explained here. One should take refuge in this and achieve the goal of the soul. One should awaken the potential through the strong support of pure instrumental causes, so that the cycle of births and deaths comes to an end in the last cycle of existence, so that there are only a few births left, and even in those, as few as possible. This is the message here. In harmony with this, the great sage, the embodiment of knowledge, Shrimad Rajchandraji, the supreme saint and devotee of the present age, has uttered the following words, which are like the roar of a hero, motivating the supreme effort:
