ગદષ્ટિસમુચ્ચય હું અત્યાર સુધી આ પરવસ્તુના સંસર્ગથી પરવસ્તુમાં રમ્યો ! તે રમવા ગ્ય નહોતું. એવો ક્ષોભ-કંપ આત્મામાં થાય તે અનુકંપા. જેમકે –
હું છોડી નિજરૂપ રમ્ય પર પુલે,
ઝી ઊલટ આણી વિષય તૃષ્ણ જલે વિહરમાન” -શ્રીદેવચંદ્રજી એવી સાચી અનુકંપા ઉપજે, એટલે નિવેદ-સંસારથી અત્યંત કંટાળો આવી જાય. આ કાજળની કેટડી જેવા સંસારમાં મહારે હવે એક ક્ષણ પણ આત્મભાવે રહેવું નથી, એમ સંસારથી તે ઉભગે. અને એ નિર્વેદ-કંટાળે ઉપજતાં, સંવેગ એટલે મોક્ષનો તીવ્રવેગી અભિલાષ ઉપજે, આ સંસાર બંધનથી હું ક્યારે છૂટું એવી શુદ્ધ ભાવના ભાવતો તે દઢ મુમુક્ષુ બને, અને તેના પરિણામે પ્રશમ પ્રગટે, વિષય-કષાયનું પ્રશાંતપણું થાય, પરભાવથી વિરતિ થાય, વીતરાગતા આવે અને તેને આત્મા સ્વસ્વરૂપમાં સમાઈ જાય.
આવા પાંચ લક્ષણવાળું સમ્યગદર્શન જીવને પહેલા અપૂર્વકરણના પ્રતાપે ગ્રંથિભેદ થયે સાંપડે છે. અને પછી કમ સ્થિતિમાંથી સંખ્યાત સાગરોપમ વ્યતીત થયે, આ બીજુ
અપૂર્વકરણ-અપૂર્વ આત્મપરિણામ પ્રાપ્ત થાય છે, ત્યારે આ તાત્વિક તાત્વિક ધર્મ. ધર્મસંન્યાસગ ક્ષપકશ્રેણીમાં ચઢતા સામર્થ્યાગીને હોય છે, સંન્યાસ કારણ કે તે ક્ષેપક થેગી ક્ષમા વગેરે ક્ષે પશમરૂપ ધર્મોથી નિવર્યો છે, અને
કોધાદિ કષાયરૂપ સર્વ કર્મ પ્રકૃતિને જડમૂળથી ખપાવવારૂપ ક્ષાયિકભાવ ભણી પ્રવર્તે છે. અને આવો જે “ધર્મ સંન્યાસ” નામને સામગ છે, તે જ ખરેખર તાત્વિક, પારમાર્થિક “ધર્મસંન્યાસ’ ગ છે.

(૧) જે આર્ય દેશમાં ઉત્પન્ન થયો હોય, (૨) વિશિષ્ટ જાતિ–કુલવાળે હોય, (૩) જેને કમલ ક્ષીપ્રાય–લગભગ ક્ષીણ થવા આવ્યું હોય, (૪) એથી કરીને જ જે વિમલ
