KAVYAPRAKASA-SAMKETA
The letter afterà is illegible. It may be or y, most prog, bably Reading the digits from right to left the year would be a तेंदु. 113-1199 or 1200 A. D. which is not possible because the far and are do not agree.
There is another reason also. 1200 A. D. is a bit too early for a paper ms. Reading the digits, however, from right to left according to an older custom, the year would be a 1311=1289 A. D. In this case the faf and agree. The oldest paper mss. are known to be in about this time.

Description of manuscripts:
A. Source: Bada Bhandara of Jesalmere; bearing the number 346 Material: Palm-leaf.
Number of leaves: 222.
Length: 143"; breadth 24" to 1".
Lines per page: 7; on a few pages 3 to 6. Each line is made up
of two parts of about 41" to 6", the first part containing about 23 to 25 letters, the second about 33 to 35. 1a and 222b blank.
Script: Devanagari.
The difference arises from the fact that there was formerly the custom of dropping one in every 85 years, as 85 years 86 revolutions of Jupiter (5). The 60 year cycle of the as was created to be roughly equal to 5 revolutions of Jupiter, but, to be exact, the correction of one ar is necessary as shown above. So it appears that the correction of 2 years had already been made before 222, thus bringing संवत्सर in शक १२११.
Incidentally, it shows us also the fact that the custom of dropping one in 85 years may have originated 2x 85-170 or 3 x 85-255 years before 2222, i. e. between 956 and 1041 years of the era.
So, may be according to the ancient practice of dropping a संवत्सर, which was called & क्षय संवत्सर like क्षय मास or क्षय तिथि.
Thus fedt gear-26 May 1289 4. D. (Thursday) seems to be the correct date and the reading seems to be शाके चन्द्रे विलोचनेंशर्शिभिः. Here we have to take the digits from left to right, which was also a custom in older times. In later times, the custom became mostly to read from right to left.
Now we discuss the other reading aftagaff. The manuscript came in the possession of af in Vikram Samvat 243 i. e. Salivahana Saka 20. This reading ("पु) gives १५२१ or १२५१ शालिवाहन शक, of whiob १५२१ is inadmissible, being later than शक १४०१, the date of the Ms. coming in the possession of दयासागरगणि. The years शालिवाहनशक १२५१ is not, however, & खर संवत्सर, lying as it does at an interval of 22 years from, शा. श. १२७२, which comes as खरसंवत्सर, if no क्षयसंवत्सर is allowed. So it is also inadmissible, for this reaseon.
...falls on Thursday, 4th May 1329 A. D. most probably, though it may be one day earlier or later. Here the (day of the week) is satisfactory, but as it cannot be a ra, this date also cannot be admitted.
Thus शा· श. १२११ ज्ये. शु. ५ गुरुवार - 26 May 1289 A. D. seems to be the correct date,”
