= Thursday 26th May, 1289. D. Name of the seribe: Laksmanasāri, son of Sri Visnubhatta. The Ms. came into the possession of Dayāsāgaragaņi in
Samvat 1536 (1480 A. D.) when in Ahmedabad. Folio la: in the middle ॥ काव्यप्रकाशः॥

॥ इति श्रीकाव्यप्रकाशेऽर्थालंकारनिर्णयो नाम दशमोल्लासः ॥ - इत्येष मार्गों etc ॥ समाप्तोयं काव्यप्रकाशः ॥
Colophon : शाके चन्द्रविलोचने (illegible) शशिभिः क्लप्ते खरे वत्सरे ज्येष्ठे मासि सिते दले गुरुयुते पंचम्यभिख्ये तिथौ । साधूनां परितोषपोषविधये श्रीविष्णुभट्टात्मजे
नायं लक्ष्मणसूरिणा विलिखितः काव्यप्रकाशः खयं ॥
शुभमस्तु ॥ In a different, bolder hand: सं. १५३६ वर्षे श्री अहम्मदावादनगरे वा० दयासागरगणिभिः परिगृहीता प्रतिरियं ।
These would be interesting suggestions if they were not based on the identity of a passage which is of a conventional nature and to be found with slight variations in other colophons and inscriptions of Kumārapāla. For example, compare: संवत् १२०८ ज्येषशुदि ६ रवौ अबेह श्रीमदणहिलपाटके समस्तराजावलीसमलंकृत महाराजाधिराज-उमापतिवरलब्धप्रसाद-प्रौढप्रतापनिजमुजविनिर्जितरणांगणोपेतशाकंभरीभूपाल-श्रीमत्कुमारपालदेवराज्ये (p. 106. जै. पु.प्र.सं. प्रथमभाग सिं. जै. ग्र. मा.).
In volume II of Historical Inscriptions of Gujarat edited by Acharya Girijasankara Vallabhaji asimilar reference would be found on p. 14 with the addition श्रीअवन्तीनाथ who was subjugated by Kumārapāla by that time (V. 8. 1220).
1 I am obliged to Prof. Harihara Bhatta for the following note:. "शाके चन्द्रविलोचने शशिभिः , खरसंवत्सर, ज्येष्ठ शुक्कुपंचमी, गुरुवार. x stands for a letter, which is not legible; it may by न्दु or धु. Thus the readings may be I चन्द्रविलोचनेन्देशशिभिः or II चन्द्रविलोचनेषुशशिभिः।
___Reading I gives शक ११२१ or १२११ according as the digits are taken from right to left or left to right-both of which dates are earlier than the date mentioned in the manuscript.
Now ज्येष्ठशुक्लपंचमी of शक ११२१ was शनिवार, रविवार or सोमवार, most probably रविवार, but it was certainly, not गुरुवार. So शक १२११ remains the only alternative.
Now ज्ये. शु. ५ of श.१२११ was बुधवार, गुरुवार or शुक्रवार, most probably गुरुवार.
The खर संवत्सर recently was शालिवाहन शक १८७३. So the cycle of 60years of the संवत्सरs gives शक १२१३ as खर संवत्सर, and not १२११.
