Material: Palm-leaf. Number of leaves: 178: la and 178b unwritten. Length: 15"; breadth : 11" to 13". Lines per page: 2 to 4. Each line is made up of two parts of about 5" and 7" respectively. Each part contains about 25 and 27 letters respectively. Script: Devanāgarĩ. Date : Samvat 1215, Asvina sudi 14, Budha = Wednesday October 8 1158 A. D.', in the reign of Kumārapāla. Place : Aşahila-pāțaka. Name of the scribe or patron : Pandita Šri Lakşmīdhara.

2 On this Dr. P. K. Gode remarks: “If the word "foaftar" is taken in its strict sepse the statement would mean that Pandita Lakşmidbara got this copy prepared for him. If, however, farfar be interpreted to mean feat, Lakşmidhara bimself becomes the scribe" (p. 53). On the strength of the identity of the passage श्रीमदणहिलपाटके to विजयराज्ये in the above colophon, with the one found in the inscription of V. S. 1213 (-- A. D. 1156) in the temple of Pārsvanātha in Naddula = Nadol whose scribe was Papdita Mahipala, Dr. Gode says, "Can we suppose that Pandita Mabipāla's sentence quoted above is reproduced by Pandita Lākşmidhara in the Kāvyaprakāśa colophon? If Pandita Lakşmidhara is supposed to be a different person from the copyist of the Kavyaprakāśa Ms., it may be possible to suggest that Kayastha Mahipāla may have copied the Ms. of the Kávyaprakāśa for Pandita Lakşmidbara and in doing so he only repeated a sentence from his inscription of A. D. 1156 two years later." Dr. Gode, however, adds that more evidence is needed for this inference and suggests as an alternative inference that Pandita Lakşmidhara had before him in 1158 A, D. the earlier Nadol grant of 1156 A. D. (J. O. R. Madras: Vol. XIII pp. 52-53).
