________________ 34. ધર્મોનું તુલનાત્મક અધ્યયન ઇસ્લામમાં રવર્ગ અને નર્ક વિશે ઘણું કહેવાયું છે. એની ચર્ચા આપણે આગળ પણ કરી છે. પવિત્ર માણસો સ્વર્ગમાં જાય છે, અને ત્યાં વિવિધ પ્રકારના આનંદ અનુભવે છે. જે માણસે અલ્લાહનું શરણ સ્વીકારતા નથી એવા પાપી માણસો નરકમાં જાય છે અને ત્યાં અનેક પ્રકારના દુઃખ સહન કરે છે. કર્મ, તેનું પરિણામ, તે વિશેને ન્યાય અને ન્યાયના દિવસે કે પુનર્જન્મરૂપે ભોગાયટનની વિવિધ ધર્મમાં મળતી માહિતીની આપણે ઉપર રજુઆત કરી. એ બધાના સારરૂપે નવું પામી શકાય કે પ્રત્યેક ધર્મ માનવ-માનવ વચ્ચે સદાચારી જીવનને આગ્રહ રાખે છે, જેથી માનવ અને ઈશ્વર વચ્ચેનું ધાર્મિક જીવન શક્ય બને જનધર્મમાં સ્ત્રીને પાપના મૂળ કારણ તરીકે સ્વીકારવામાં આવે છે તેનું કારણ સ્ત્રી દૈહિક વાસનાના સંતોષનું કારણ બને છે તે હોય. પરંતુ એક મત એ પણ પ્રચલિત છે કે જાતીય સુખ એ આધ્યાત્મિક પૂર્ણતા માટે જરૂરી છે અને આધ્યાત્મિક સાધનામાં સ્ત્રી સમાગમ એ એક અંગ તરીકે સ્વીકારવામાં આવ્યું છે. આ અંગે વિડજરી આમ કહેપપ છે: The dependence of human nature is seen in one of its most intense forms in the demands of sex. At their lowest these may be predominantly physical: but the intensity of the need does not ipso facto lessen the more idealised and spiritual the relation becomes. Here, in fact, it is true to say that the "pangs of unrequited love" are more poignant the more idealised it is. The suffering from lack of physical satisfaction is trivial compared with the pain of mental alienation. It is not without reason that the suffering of the seperation of the lovers has been made symbolic of the suffering of the soul alienated from god. But sex has played another part in religion besides this symbolism.
