ધર્મબોધ વિષય તુલના 355 Mana within and a Mana without, sorrow and suffering are at least momentarily forgotten. Sex union has therefore found admission in the practices of some religions as a form of redemption from suffering. Thus, to give but one example, in certain forms of Tantric Hind uism, in the Panchatattva Sadhana, intercourse with women, one of the five, "M" s, constitutes a factor in the means of redemption.* * The five 'm's are madya, mangsa, matsya, mudra, maithuna, meaning wine, meat, fish, grain, woman. The relations between the sexual and religion need a careful and more sympathetic and exhaustive treatment than they have yet received. The modern psycho-analytical methods might yield fruitful results in this connection. Of the reality of the sexual in Tantric Hinduism, the evidences of literature and sculpture leave no room for doubt, in spite of the wish to do so by some pious Hindus who have not enquired into its underlying significance. 8. મુક્તિ : આપણે જીવના સ્વરૂપની વિચારણા કરતી વખતે એ કહ્યું કે માનવી સમક્ષ એક આદર્શ છે જેની પ્રાપ્તિને માટે એ પ્રયત્નશીલ છે. આ કે આદર્શ ? એ જે એક શબ્દમાં કહેવું હોય તે એને મુક્તિ તરીકે ઓળખાવી શકાય. પ્રત્યેક ધર્મમાં મુક્તિને વિશે વિચારણા કરવામાં આવી છે. આવી વિચારણા જે તે ધર્મની રજૂઆત કરતી વખતે આપણે કરેલી છે. એટલે તેની વિગતમાં ન ઊતરતાં એના મહત્ત્વના અંગને અહીંયાં ઉલ્લેખ કરીને મુક્તિ વિશેની જે વિવિધતા ધર્મોમાં પ્રાપ્ત થાય છે તેની વિચારણા કરીશું. મુક્તિને પ્રશ્ન જીવનું જે સ્વરૂપ ધર્મ સ્વીકારે છે એની સાથે નિકટ રીતે સંકળાયેલ છે. હિંદુધર્મમાં જીપને બ્રહ્મ સ્વરૂપના આવિર્ભાવ તરીકે સ્વીકારાય છે અને એથી જીવની મુક્તિ એટલે બ્રહ્મલીનતા. આ બ્રહ્મલીનતા પ્રાપ્ત કરવાને માટે ત્રણ સાધન
