श्री सूत्रकृताङ्ग सूत्रम्
होता है, उसे पर्यंक या पलंग कहते हैं । गृहस्थ के घर के भीतर या दो घरों के बीच के संकड़े स्थान में शयन करना या बैठना संयम की विराधना का हेतु है। अतः साधु इनका परित्याग करे । कहा गया है-गम्भीरमांचे या खाट आदि आसनों में गम्भीर - गहरे छिद्र होते हैं, इसलिए उनमें जीव साक्षात् दिखलाई नहीं पड़ते, पर उनमें उनका होना आशंकित है । उनका प्रतिलेखन नहीं हो सकता तथा गृहस्थ के घर के भीतर या दो घरों के बीच स्थित होने से ब्रह्मचर्य की गुप्ति - रक्षा संभव नहीं है । वहाँ स्त्री संसर्ग की भी शंका बनी रहती है । गृहस्थ के घर के परिवार के कुशल क्षेम विषयक समाचार पूछना, अपनी देह के अंगों को पोंछना तथा पहले की हुई क्रीड़ाओं - भोगे हुए विषय भोगों को याद करना - ये सब अनर्थ के, आत्मा के अध: पतन के लिए हैं । अतएव विदित वैद्य-वस्तुतत्ववेत्ता विवेकशील मुनि ज्ञपरिज्ञा द्वारा इन सबको जानकर प्रत्याख्यान परिज्ञा द्वारा इनका परित्याग करे ॥२१॥
वंदपूयणा ।
जसं कितिं सलोयं च, जा सव्वलोयंसि जे कामा, तं विज्जं परिजाणिया ॥२२॥
छाया यशः कीर्तिः श्लोकश्च या च वन्दना पूजना । सर्वलोके ये कामा स्तद् विद्वान् परिजानीयात् ॥
अनुवाद - यशस्विता, कीर्ति, प्रशस्ति, वन्दन, सत्कार तथा समस्त सांसारिक भोग संसार भ्रमण के कारण हैं, यह जानकर विवेकशील मुनि इनका त्याग कर दे ।
टीका - अपिच बहुसमरसङ्घट्टनिर्वहणशौर्यलक्षणं यशः दानसाध्या कीर्ति: जातितपोवाहुश्रुत्यादिजनिताश्लाघा, तथा या च सुरासुराधिपतिचक्रवर्तिबलदेववासुदेवादिभिर्वन्दना तथा तैरेव सत्कारपूर्विका वस्त्रादिना पूजना तथा सर्वस्मिन्नापि लोके इच्छामदनरूपा ये केचन कामास्तदेतत्सर्वं यशः कीर्ति (श्लोकादिक :) मपकारितया परिज्ञाय परिहरेदिति ॥२२॥
टीकार्थ बहुत बड़े संग्राम में युद्ध कर विजय प्राप्त करने से संसार में जो शौर्य की प्रसिद्धि या ख्याति होती है, उसे यश कहते हैं । अत्यधिक दान देने की जो प्रसिद्धि प्राप्त होती है, उसे कीर्ति कहा जाता है । उच्च जाति में जन्मने, तपश्वचरण करने तथा शास्त्राध्ययन करने से जो जगत में ख्याति मिलती है उसे श्लाघा कहते हैं । देवेन्द्र, असुरेन्द्र, चक्रवती, बलदेव, वासुदेव आदि द्वारा जो वन्दन नमस्कार, वस्त्रादि द्वारा सत्कार एवं सम्मान किया जाता है, वह तथा समग्र लोक के कामभोग-इन सभी की यश, कीर्ति, प्रशस्ति आदि को परिज्ञात कर - इनके वास्तविक स्वरूप को आत्मसात् कर साधु इनका परित्याग करे ।
जेणेहं णिव्वहे भिक्खू, अन्नपाणं तहाविहं । अणुप्पयाणमन्नेसिं,
येनेह निर्वहेद् भिक्षु रन्नपानं तथाविधम् । अनुप्रदान मन्येषां तद् विद्वान् परिजानीयात् ॥

**Commentary:** Furthermore, fame is the characteristic of bravery in carrying out many battles and conflicts, glory is achieved through giving, praise is born from high birth, austerity, and hearing scriptures, and respect is given by the kings of gods and demons, emperors, powerful kings, Vasudeva, etc., and the same respect is given by them in the form of clothes, etc. Knowing all this, a wise monk should abandon fame, glory (praise, etc.) by understanding their true nature. ||22||

**Commentary Meaning:** The fame or reputation that arises in the world from winning a battle in a very large war is called fame. The fame that is obtained by giving a lot of charity is called glory. The fame that is obtained in the world by being born in a high caste, by practicing austerity, and by studying scriptures is called praise. The respect that is given by Indra, the king of the demons, the emperor, Balarama, Vasudeva, etc., in the form of bowing, salutation, clothes, etc., and all the worldly desires - a monk should abandon all these by knowing their true nature and by understanding their true nature.

**The monk who carries out his duties**

The monk who carries out his duties, food and drink, and the same, should know that the giving of food to others is the cause of worldly wandering. ||23||
