श्री सूत्रकृताङ्ग सूत्रम् - अनुवाद - पाप सन्तप्त-पापों से पीड़ित पुरुष अपने पाप के बदले अपने कर्ण, नासिका तथा कण्ठ का छेदन सहन करते हैं अर्थात् उनके कान, नाक और गला काट दिये जाते हैं । जिस पर भी वे मन में ऐसा निश्चय नहीं करते कि अब आगे से ऐसा पापपूर्ण कृत्य नहीं करेंगे।
टीका - अथ कर्णनासिकाच्छेदं तथा कण्ठच्छेदनं च 'तितिक्षन्ते' स्वकृतदोषात्सहन्ते इति, एवं बहुविधां विडम्बनाम् 'अस्मिन्नेव' मानुषे च जन्मानि पापेन-पापकर्मणा संतप्ता नरकातिरिक्तां वेदनामभवन्तीति न च पुनरेतदेवम्भूतमनुष्ठानं न करिष्याम इति ब्रुवत इत्यवधारयन्तीतियावत्, तदैवमैहिकामुष्मिका दुःख विडम्बना अप्यङ्गीकुर्वन्ति न पुनस्तदकरणतया निवृत्तिं प्रतिपद्यन्त इति भावः ॥२२॥ किञ्चान्यत् -
टीकार्थ - पापाचारी पुरुष अपने द्वारा किये गये पापाचार के परिणामस्वरूप कान नाक व कण्ठ का छेदन, ऐसा कष्ट सहन करते हैं । वे पापी अपने पाप कर्म से संवप्त होकर नर्क के अतिरिक्त इस लोक में भी अनेक तरह की यातनायें भोगते हैं किन्तु वे अपने मन में ऐसा दृढ़ संकल्प नहीं कर पाते कि हम आगे ऐसा दुष्कर्म नहीं करेंगे इस प्रकार पापी मनुष्य इस लोक में ओर परलोक में दुःख तथा विडम्बना और दुर्गति स्वीकार करते हैं किन्तु पापकर्म-दुष्कर्म करने से निवृत्त नहीं होते।
सुतमेवमेगेसिं, इत्थीवेदेति हु सुयक्खायं । एंवपि ता वदित्ताणं, अदुवा कम्मुणा अवकरेंति ॥२३॥ छाया - श्रुतमेतदेवमेकेषां, स्त्रीवेद इति हु स्वाख्यातम् ।
एवमपि ताउक्त्वा अथवा कर्मणा अपकुर्वन्ति ॥ अनुवाद - स्त्री वेग-स्त्रियों की प्रवृत्ति बहुत बुरी होती है ऐसा सुना है, लोग ऐसा कहते हैं । कामशास्त्र भी ऐसा कहता है । उन सबके कथनानुसार स्त्रियाँ कहने को तो ऐसा कह देती हैं कि हम ऐसा नहीं करेंगी किन्तु वे अपकार करती हैं ।
टीका - 'श्रुतम्' उपलब्धं गुर्वादेः सकाशाल्लोकतो वा 'एतद्' इति यत्पूर्वमाख्यातं, तद्यथा-दुर्विज्ञेयं स्त्रीणां चिंत्त दारूणः स्त्रीसम्बन्धविपाकः तथा चलस्वभावा:स्त्रियो दुष्परिचारा अदीर्घप्रेक्षिण्यः प्रकृत्या लध्व्यो भवन्त्यात्मगर्विताश्च 'इति' एवमेकेषां स्वाख्यातं भवति लोकश्रुतिपरम्परया चिरन्तनाख्यायिकासु वा परिज्ञातं भवति स्त्रियं यथावस्थितस्वभावतस्तत्सम्बन्धविपाकतश्च वेदयति-ज्ञापयतीति स्त्रीवेदो-वैशिकादिकं स्त्रीस्वभावा विर्भावकं शास्त्रमिति, तदुक्तम्
दुर्ग्राह्यं हृदयं यथैव वदनं यदूर्पणातर्गतं, भावः पर्वतमार्गदुर्गविषमः स्त्रीणां न विज्ञायते । चितं पुष्करपत्रतोयतरलं नैकत्र सन्तिष्ठते नार्यो नाम विषाङ्करैरिव लता दोषैः सम वर्धिता ॥१॥" अपिच
"सुट्ठविजियासु सुठुवि पियासु सुट्ठविय पियासु सुट्ठविय लद्धपसरासु । अडईसु महिलियासु य वीसंभो नेव कायव्वो ॥१॥
छाया - सुष्ठु विजितासु सुष्ट्रवपि प्रीतासु सुपि च लब्धप्रसरासु । अटकीषु महिलासु च विश्वम्भो नैवकार्यः ॥
