स्त्री परिज्ञाध्ययनं
उभे अंगुली सो पुरिसो सयलंभि जीवलोयम्मि । कामं तएण नारी जेण न पत्ताई दुखाई ॥२॥
उर्ध्वयतु अंगुलिं स पुरुषः सकले जीवलोके । कामयता नारीवेंषमपि कुर्वन्ति नवरं यस्यालं

अह एयाणं पगई सव्वस्स करेंति वेमणस्साईं । तस्स ण करेंति णवरं जस्स अलं चेव कामेहिं ॥३॥ " किञ्च - अकार्यमहं न करिष्यामीत्येवमुक्त्वापि वाचा 'अदुव' त्ति तथापि कर्मणा-क्रियया 'अपकुर्वन्ति' इति विरूपमाचरन्ति, यदि वा अग्रतः प्रतिपद्यापि च शास्तुरेवापकुर्वन्तीति ॥२३॥ सूत्रकार एव तत्स्वभावाविष्करणायाह
टीकार्थ – पहले जो कहा गया है वह सब हमने गुरुजन आदि से तथा लोगों से भी सुना है। स्त्रियों

के चित्त को समझ पाना बहुत कठिन है । उनके साथ सम्पर्क रखने का फल भी बड़ा दारूण - कष्टप्रद होता है । स्त्रियों का स्वभाव चंचल होता है। उनकी सेवा कर पाना बहुत कठिन है । स्त्रियाँ दूरदर्शी नहीं होती हैं। उनकी प्रकृति बड़ी तुच्छ नीची होती है, वे बड़ी गर्वान्वित होती है । ऐसा कई कहते हैं। लौकिक श्रुति परम्परा से भी यह सुना जाता है लोगों को ऐसा कहते सुनते हैं । पुरानी कथाओं से भी ऐसा मालूम होता है । स्त्रियों के स्वभाव और संसर्ग का फल विवेचक कामशास्त्र में स्त्री वेग कहा जाता है । इस शास्त्र में स्त्रियों के स्वभाव का वर्णन है । इस शास्त्र में बतलाया गया है कि दर्पण पर पड़ा मुख का प्रतिबिम्ब दूरग्राही होता है उसे पकड़ पाना सम्भव नहीं होता । उसी तरह स्त्रियों के हृदय को भी पकड़ा नहीं जा सकता, समझा नहीं जा सकता । स्त्रियों का अभिप्राय पहाड़ के दुर्गम रास्ते के समान गहन होने के कारण जाना नहीं जा सकता । उनका चित्त कमल के पत्ते पर पड़ी हुई पानी की बूंद की तरह बहुत तरल - चंचल या अस्थिर होता है । इसलिए वह एक जगह नहीं टिकता । जैसे जहर के अंकुर से जहरीली बेल पैदा होती है उसी तरह औरतें दोषों के साथ पैदा हुई हैं। अच्छी तरह विजित-जीती हुई, स्वायत्त की हुई अत्यन्त प्रसन्न या साफ सुथरी या अत्यन्त परिचित अटवी - वनभूमि तथा स्त्री में विश्वास नहीं करना चाहिए। इस सारी दुनिया में कोई आदमी क्या उंगली उठाकर यह कह सकता है कि उसने स्त्री की कामना कर यातनायें न भोगी हो । स्त्रियों की ऐसी प्रवृत्ति है कि वे केवल उस पुरुष का तिरस्कार नहीं करती हैं जिसे वे चाहती हैं । बाकी सबका तिरस्कारअपमान कर देती हैं। स्त्रियाँ वचन द्वारा ऐसा आश्वासन देकर के भी वे अब आगे ऐसे कार्य नहीं करेगी, अपने वचन के विपरीत वैसा आचरण करती हैं अथवा शिक्षा देने वाले के सामने तो वे उसकी बात मान लेती हैं किन्तु बाद में उसी का अपकार- बुरा करती हैं ।
अन्नं मणेण चिंतेति, वाया अन्नं च कम्मुणा अन्नं । तम्हा ण सह भिक्खू, बहुमायाओ इत्थिओ णच्चा ॥ २४ ॥

अनुवाद - स्त्रियां अपने मन में कुछ ओर ही सोचती है, तथा वचन द्वारा कुछ ओर ही बोलती है। कर्म द्वारा वे कुछ ओर ही करती है । इसलिए भिक्षु (मुनि) स्त्रियों को अत्यधिक मायायुक्त छलपूर्ण जानकर उनमें विश्वास न करें ।

That man who sees the entire world of living beings as equal, even though he desires a woman, does not attain sorrow. ॥2॥
He raises his finger, that man, in the entire world of living beings. Though desiring the form of a woman, he does not do anything more than her shadow with desires.

Verily, these (women) create discontentment in everyone. But they do not do anything more than what is sufficient for him who is content with (their) desires. ॥3॥
Further, even after saying "I will not do the improper," they still "do the opposite" by their actions. Or, even if they accept (the instructions) in front (of the teacher), they still do the opposite of the teacher's teachings. ॥23॥

The nature of women and the fruit of their association is called the "Impetuosity of Women" in the science of Kama (erotics). This science describes the nature of women. It is stated in this science that the reflection seen on a mirror is distant and cannot be grasped. Similarly, the heart of women cannot be grasped or understood. The intention of women is as deep as the difficult path of a mountain, hence cannot be known. Their mind is as fluid and unstable as a drop of water on a lotus leaf. Therefore, it does not stay in one place. Just as a poisonous creeper grows from a poisonous seed, similarly, women are born with defects. One should not trust a woman who is completely conquered, self-reliant, extremely pleased, very clean, or extremely familiar with the forest. In this whole world, what man can raise his finger and say that he has not suffered torment by desiring a woman. The tendency of women is that they do not only despise the man they desire, but they also despise and insult all others. Women, even after giving assurance in words that they will not do such acts in the future, act contrary to their words, or they accept the words of the teacher in front of him, but later on, they harm him.

The mind thinks of one thing, the speech says another, and the action does something else. Therefore, the monk should not have faith in women, knowing them to be highly deceitful. ॥24॥
