मूलाचार
कसायगारवुम्मुको संसारं तरदे लहु ॥ ९६८ ॥ ज्ञानविज्ञानसंपन्नो ध्यानाध्ययनतपोयुतः । कषायगौरवोन्मुक्तः संसारं तरति लघु ।। ९६८ ॥
अर्थ — जो ज्ञानचारित्र सहित है, ध्यान अध्ययन तप इनकर सहित है और कषाय गौरवकर रहित है वह मुनि संसारसमुद्रको शीघ्र ही तर जाता है ॥ ९६८ ॥
सज्झायं कुव्वतो पंचिंदियसंपुडो तिगुत्तो य । हवदि य एयग्गमणो विणएण समाहिओ भिक्खू ॥९६९ स्वाध्यायं कुर्वन् पंचेंद्रियसंवृतः त्रिगुप्तश्च ।
भवति च एकाग्रमना विनयेन समाहितो भिक्षुः ॥ ९६९ ॥ अर्थ - स्वाध्याय करता हुआ साधु पंचेंद्रियों के संवरयुक्त होता है, तीन गुप्तिवाला होजाता है, ध्यानमें लीन और विनयकरयुक्त होजाता है ॥ ९६९ ॥
बारसविधमि य तवे सम्भंतरबाहिरे कुसलदिट्ठे । वि अत्थि णवि य होहदि सज्झायसमं तवोकम्मं ९७० द्वादशविधे च तपसि साभ्यंतरबाह्ये कुशलदृष्टे ।
नापि अस्ति नापि च भविष्यति स्वाध्यायसमं तपः कर्म ९७० अर्थ - तीर्थंकर गणधरादिकर दिखाये वा किये गये आभ्यंतर बाह्य भेदयुक्त बारह प्रकारके तपमें खाध्याय के समान उत्तम अन्यतप न तो है और न होगा अर्थात् स्वाध्याय ही परम तप है । सूई जहा ससुत्ता ण णस्सदि दु पमाददोसेण । एवं ससुतपुरिसो ण णस्सदि तह पमाददोसेण९७१ सूची यथा ससूत्रा न नश्यति तु प्रमाददोषेण ।
