मूलाचारअर्थ-जिस क्षेत्रमें कषायोंकी उत्पत्ति हो, आदरका अभाव हो मूर्खता अधिक हो जहां नेत्र आदि इंद्रियोंके विषयोंकी अधिकता हो, जहां शृंगार आदिभावोंसहित स्त्रियां अधिक हों, क्लेश अधिक हो, उपसर्ग बहुत हों ऐसे स्थानको मुनि अवश्य छोड़दे ॥ ९४९॥ गिरिकंदरं मसाणं सुण्णागारं च रुक्खमूलं वा । ठाणं विरागबहुलं धीरो भिक्खू णिसेवेऊ ॥ ९५०॥
गिरिकंदरां मशानं शून्यागारं च वृक्षमूलं वा। स्थानं वैराग्यबहुलं धीरो भिक्षुः निषेवतां ॥९५० ॥
अर्थ-पर्वतकी गुफा, मसानभूमि सूनाघर और वृक्षकी कोटर ऐसे वैराग्यके कारण स्थानोंमें धीर मुनि रहे ॥ ९५० ॥ णिवदिविहूर्ण खेत्तं णिवदी वा जत्थ दुट्टओ होज। पव्वजा च ण लब्भइ संजमघादो य तं वजे॥९५१॥
नृपतिविहीनं क्षेत्रं नृपतिर्वा यत्र दुष्टो भवेत् । प्रव्रज्या च न लभ्यते संयमघातश्च तत् वर्जयेत् ॥ ९५१॥
अर्थ-जो देश राजाकर रहित हो अथवा जहां राजा दुष्ट हो, भिक्षा भी न मिले दीक्षा ग्रहण करने में रुचि भी न हो, और संयमका घात हो उस देशको अवश्य त्याग दे ॥ ९५१ ॥ णो कप्पदि विरदाणं विरदीणमुवासयह्मि चेट्टेदुं । तत्थ णिसेजउवट्टणसज्झायाहारवोसरणे ॥ ९५२॥
नो कल्प्यते विरतानां विरतीनामुपाश्रये स्थातुं । तत्र निषद्योद्वर्तनखाध्यायाहारव्युत्सर्ग ॥ ९५२ ॥ अर्थ-मुनियोंको आर्यिकाओंके स्थानमें रहना ठीक नहीं है
