अनगारभावनाधिकार ९। ३१५ नकर छूटा हुआ नगरकी सड़क पर अतिसामर्थ्यवाले मनुष्यकर तीक्ष्ण ( मैंने ) अंकुशसे वश किया जाता है ॥ ८७४ ॥ तह चंडो मणहत्थी उद्दामो विषयरायमग्गम्मि । णाणंकुसेण धरिओ रुद्धो जह मत्तहत्थिव्व ॥ ८७५ ॥
तथा चंडो मनोहस्ती उद्दामो विषयराजमार्गे । ज्ञानांकुशेन धृतो रुद्धो यथा मत्तहस्ती इव ॥ ८७५॥
अर्थ-उसीतरह नरकादिमें डालनेकेलिये प्रवीण मनरूपी हस्ती संयमादिरूप सांकलरहित हुआ विषयरूपी सड़कपर दौड़ता मतवाले हाथीकी तरह मुनिराजने ज्ञानरूपी अंकुशसे रोका और वश किया है ॥ ८७५ ॥ ण च एदि विणिस्सरिदुं मणहत्थी झाणवारिबंधणीदो। बद्धो तह य पयंडो विरायरजूहिं धीरेहिं ॥ ८७६ ॥
न च एति विनिस्सतु मनोहस्ती ध्यानवारिबंधनीतः । बद्धस्तथा च प्रचंडः विरागरजुभिः धीरैः ॥ ८७६ ॥
अर्थ-जैसे मत्त हाथी बारिबंधकर रोका गया निकलनेको समर्थ नहीं होता उसी तरह मनरूपी हाथी ध्यानरूपी बारिबंधको प्राप्त हुआ धीर अतिप्रचंड होनेपर भी मुनियोंकर वैरागरूपी रस्सेकर संयम (बंध ) को प्राप्त हुआ निकलनेको समर्थ नहीं होसकता ॥ ८७६ ॥ धिदिधणिदणिच्छिदमती चरित्तपायार गोउरं तुंगं । खंती सुकद कवाडं तवणयरं संजमारक्खं ॥ ८७७॥ धृतिस्तमितनिश्चितमतिः चरित्रप्राकारं गोपुरं तुंगं । क्षांतिः सुकृतं कपाटं तपोनगरं संयमारक्षम् ॥ ८७७ ॥
