जायंतो य मरंतो जलथलखयरेसु तिरियणिरियेसु । माणुस्से देवत्ते दुक्खसहस्साणि पप्पादि ॥ ७०७ ॥ जायमानश्च म्रियमाणः जलस्थलखचरेषु तिर्यग्निरयेषु । मानुष्ये देवत्वे दुःखसहस्राणि प्राप्नोति ।। ७०७ ॥ अर्थ — उस संसार में जन्म मरण करता यह जीव जलचर स्थलचर आकाशचर तिर्यंचयोनिमें, नरकमें, मनुष्यगतिमें और देवगतिमें हजारों तरहके दुःख पाता है ॥ ७०७ ॥ जे भोगा खलु केई देवा माणुस्सिया य अणुभूदा । दुक्खं च णंतखुत्तो णिरए तिरिए जोणीसु ॥७०८ || संजोगविप्पओगा लाहालाहं सुहं च दुक्खं च । संसारे अणुभूदा माणं च तहावमाणं च ॥ ७०९ ॥ एवं बहुप्पयारं संसारं विविदुक्खथिरसारं । णाऊण विचिंतिजो तहेव लहुमेव णिस्सारं ॥ ७१० ॥
ये भोगाः खलु केचित् दैवा मानुषाश्च अनुभूताः । दुःखं चानंतकृत्वः नरके तिर्यक्षु योनिषु ।। ७०८ ॥ संयोगविप्रयोगा लाभोऽलाभः सुखं च दुःखं च । संसारे अनुभूता मानं च तथापमानं च ।। ७०९ ॥ एवं बहुप्रकारं संसारं विविधदुःखस्थिरसारं । ज्ञात्वा विचिंतयेत् तथैव लघुमेव निस्सारं ।। ७१० ॥
