मच्छुभयस्स ण सरणं णिगडी णीदी य णीया य ६९५ हयगजरथनरबलवाहनानि मंत्रौषधानि विद्याः । मृत्युभयात् न शरणं निकृतिः नीतिः च निजाश्च ॥ ६९५ ॥ अर्थ - घोड़ा हाथी रथ मनुष्य बल सवारी मंत्र औषधि प्रज्ञप्ति आदि विद्या ठगना चाणिक्यनीति आदि साम आदिरूप नीति और अपने भाई आदि कुटुंबीजन- ये सब मरणभय के निकट आनेपर कोई सहाई नहीं होसकते ॥ ६९५ ॥
जम्मजरामरणसमाहिदमि सरणं ण विजदे लोए । जरमरणमहारिउवारणं तु जिणसासणं मुच्चा ।। ६९६ ।। जन्मजरामरणसमाहिते शरणं न विद्यते लोके । जरामरणमहारिपुवारणं तु जिनशासनं मुक्त्वा ॥ ६९६ ॥
अर्थ - जन्म बुढापा मृत्यु इनकर सहित ऐसे जगतमें जरा मरणरूपी बड़े शत्रुओं के हटानेवाले ऐसे जिनमत के सिवाय और कोई भी शरण नहीं है । एक जिनधर्म ही सहायक है ॥ ६९६ ॥ मरणभयमि उवगदे देवावि सइंद्रया ण तारेंति । धम्मो त्ताणं सरणं गदित्ति चिंतेहि सरणत्तं ॥ ६९७ ॥ मरणभये उपगते देवा अपि सेंद्रा न तारयंति । धर्मत्राणं शरणं गतिरिति चिंतय शरणत्वं ॥ ६९७ ॥
अर्थ – मरणभय निकट आनेपर इंद्रसाहेत सुर असुरदेव भी रक्षा नहीं कर सकते एक जिनधर्म ही रक्षक आश्रय व श्रेष्ठ गतिका देनेवाला है ऐसा शरणका चितवन करो ।। ६९७ ॥
अब एकत्वभावनाको कहते हैं;
सयणस्स परियणस्स य मज्झे एक्को रुजंतओ दुहिदो ।
