श्रावक धर्म विधि प्रकरण
होति समत्थो धम्मं, कु णमाणो जो न बीहड़ परेसिं । माइपिइसामिगुरुमा धम्माणभिणाणं ॥५॥
इयाण

५. जो धर्म से अनभिज्ञ माता - पिता - स्वामी - गुरु आदि दूसरे व्यक्तियों से भयभीत नहीं होता है वही जिन - धर्म का आचरण करने में समर्थ होता है।
5. Only he has the capacity to accept and follow the right conduct who is not shy of or awed by parents, employer, teacher, or other such high placed persons who are ignorant of the true religion.
उत्तमधम्माण
सुत्तापडिकुट्टो जो, लोगविक्खाए गिहिधम्मं बहु मण्णइ, इहपरलोए विहिपरो य ॥६॥
उचियं सेवइ वित्तिं, सा पुणं नियकुलकमागया सुद्धा । माहणखत्तियवइसा-ण सुखसुद्दाण नियनियगा ॥७॥
६-७. जो आगम सम्मत उत्तम लौकिक धर्मों की अपेक्षा भी इस लोक और परलोक में कल्याणकारी श्रावक धर्म श्रेष्ठ मानते हैं, वे ब्राह्मण, क्षत्रिय, वैश्य एवं हिंसा आदि वर्जित कर्म नहीं करने वाले विशुद्व शूद्र भी अपने-अपने कुल की उचित वृत्ति (व्यवसाय) करते हुए शुद्व हैं । अर्थात् श्रावक धर्म के अधिकारी हैं ।
