Burnouf, Lotus, p. 380, translates: 'Resignation to the idea of not being born again, which leads to a clear conception of nirodha. There is a work by a Japanese, entitled Questions and answers on the one hundred Dharmas,' in which similar lists are given; but the three sorts of energy are enumerated differently: 1. Energy by putting on armour; 2. Energy in holding good deeds; 3. Energy in conferring benefits.
