जाएगी तो वे उन्हें यहाँ से निर्वासित कर देंगी। क्या गोस्वामी महात्मा यह नहीं जानते कि समस्त विश्व में एक ही पुरुष हैं और वे मेरे प्रियतम कृष्णकन्हैया है और उनके अतिरिक्त सभी नारी है ।' अव रूप गोस्वामी को विदित हो गया कि मीराँबाई वस्तुतः कृष्ण की परम भक्त हैं और उन्होंने उनसे मिलना स्वीकार किया ।"
स्थान और काल की दृष्टि से विचार करने पर मीराँ और जीव गोसाई की इस जनश्रुति में कोई असंगति नहीं दिखाई पड़ती क्योंकि मीराँबाई का वृंदावन जाना और वहाँ कुछ दिनों निवास करना प्रमाणित ही है और उस समय वृंदावन में जीव गोसाई भी उपस्थित थे और उनकी विद्वत्ता की कीर्ति भी फैल रही थी । परंतु वास्तविक असंगति पात्र की दृष्टि से विचार करने पर प्रकट होती है । जीव गोसाई अवस्था में मीरों से बहुत छोटे थे। डा० सुशीलकुमार डे ने संस्कृत काव्य-शास्त्र के इतिहास में लिखा है कि बंगाल में ऐसी प्रसिद्धि है कि जीव गोस्वामी का जन्म शाके १४४५ (सं० १५८० ) और

As a fact, Mirabai was a most beautiful young princess and he had not much faith in her pretensions Hearing the message of Rupa, Mirabai replied. Is he then a male ? If so, he has no access to Vrindaban. Males cannot enter there, and if the goddess of Vrindaban comes to know of his presence, she will turn him out. For does not the great Goswami know that there is but one male in existence, namely my beloved Kanai Lal and that all besides are female ?' Rupa now understood that Mira was really a staunch devotee of Krishna and so agreed to see her.
