કરવી એ આધુનિક પ્રગતિવાદીઓને પણ જરા મુશ્કેલ પડશે, નહિં તે ધર્મના સારા નરસાનો કંઈ માપ બતાવી ઉપર કહેલી બાબત કઈ સિદ્ધ કરે એવી અમે સ્નેહપૂર્વક વિનંતિ કરીએ છીએ.
સંસ્કૃતિનો વિચાર કરીએ તે આ પ્રગતિને નિયમ સિદ્ધ થઈ શકે તેમ નથી. પરાભૂત સંસ્કૃતિ વિજેતા સંસ્કૃતિ કરતાં શું હંમેશાં હલકી જ હોય છે? ડો. કાર સેન્ડર્સ કહે છે કે, “ જ્યારે આપણે કેટલાક સમૂહેને વિધ્વંશ કરીએ છીએ ત્યારે તેને પૂર્ણનાશ થયો જ હશે એમ નથી. તેમાંના કેટલાક સમૂહે સારી રીતે દબાઈ ગયા હશે, તે વર્ગમાંની સ્ત્રીઓ પણ પછાત રહી હશે, અને તેથી વિજ્યી સંસ્કૃતિએ કેટલાક જ્ઞાતિરિવાજેનું અનુકરણ કર્યું હશે તે પણ એ રીત રિવાજે તેમના હતા એ ઓળખવું ઘણું મુશ્કેલ થશે. વિજય એ વંશની શ્રેષ્ઠતાને પુરા થઈ શકતું નથી જેની પાસે સંહારક હથિયારો શ્રેષ્ઠ પ્રકારનાં હશે, તેને જ વિજયશ્રી વૈરશે, પરંતુ શ્રેષ્ઠ પ્રકારનાં હથિયારે હાવાં એ કંઈ વંશની શ્રેષ્ઠતાનું લક્ષણ નથી ! શ્રેષ્ઠ હથિયારે મેળવવામાં બુદ્ધિ જેટલો જ ભાગ્ય પણ ભાગ ભજવે છે.
