1884-86. Size.-- 101 in. by 4g in. Extent. - 33 folios; 16 lines to a page ; 36 letters to a line. Description.- Country paper, tough and white; Devanagari
characters; big, legible and good hand-writing ; borders ruled in three lines and edges in one in red ink; foll. 10 numbered as usual; a corner of the first fol. slightly worn out; condition on the whole very good ; fol. I blank ; so is fol. 33°; composed in Samvat ISC9; incomplete as it ends abruptly; this Ms. practically ends with the life
sketch of Arņikāputra, the 6th mahåpuruṣa. Age.- Not modern. Author.- Subhasila, pupil of Munisundara Suri of the Tapa
gaccha. For his additional works see No. 443. Subject.- Narrations about Bharata and other 52 saintly male
characters (mahapuruşas) along with 47 noble-minded ladies 20
( mahasatis ). Begins.- fol. 10 ॥ ५ ६७ ॥ नमः श्रीसर्वज्ञाय नमः । श्रीशारदायै नमः ।
युगादौ व्यवहाराध्वा सर्वो येन प्रकाशितः । स श्रीवृषभयोगींद्रो दद्याद् वोऽव्ययसंपदं ॥ १ ॥ etc. 'तपा'गछाधिपा श्रीमन्मुनिसुंदरसूरयः।
25 तच्छिष्यः शुभशीलाह्नो भरतादिकथा (थां) व्यधात् ॥ ७ ॥ तथाहि । तत्र प्रथम गाथा -
भरहेसर बाहुबली अभयकुमारो य ढंढणकुमारो।
सिरिओ अनिअउत्तो अइमुत्तो नागदत्तो भ।१।' इत्यादि ॥ १३ गाथा ॥
This is the 1st verse of the text named as Bharabesara-Bābubalisajjhaya ( Bharatesvara-Bahubali-svādhyāya') and having 13 verses It remains to be ascertained as to how many additional versos, if at all, are assigned a place in this Ms.
