D-1000 Berlin-38 It is a Master of great Satisfaction that Pandit Balchandra Siddhantashastri i publishing the Jaina Lakspavali. This will be a Standard work in the field of Jaina Studies, and I feel that the restriction to Jaksana's is not a limitation but a special advantage of the work. Definitions are a literary element in its own right which deserves special attention and should not get lost in an ocean of quotations. It is in keeping with this scheme, that Pandit Balchandra has included a highly interesting essay on Lakshnavaisistya in his learned Introduction. I very much hope the parts two and three will follow soon. May be the second part has already left the press.
Let me also congratulate your institution on the initiative taken in connection with the publication of this brilliant work, which will be one of the most important titles in your Granthamala.

प्रस्तुत लक्षणावली में विद्वान् सम्पादक ने जैन साहित्य के अध्येताओं की कठिनाई को ध्यान में रखकर जैन परम्परा के करीब चार सौ संस्कृत-प्राकृत ग्रन्थों से विशिष्ट शब्दों का चयन करके उनका प्रचलित अर्थ स्पष्ट किया है। जैन परम्परा में इस प्रकार के शब्दकोश की काफी समय से आवश्यकता अनूभव की जा रही थी। प्रस्तुत कृति से जैन साहित्य के अध्येताओं को बहुत सहायता प्राप्त होगी।... मुद्रणकार्य बहुत अच्छा हुआ हैं।
