स्कूलों के विकास को देखते हुए शिक्षकों एवं ग्रामवासियों को ग्राम उत्थान की अपेक्षा होने लगी। अब ग्राम विकास का कुछ काम किया जाने लगा। महिला-उत्थान के तहत विभिन्न गाँवों में ७ सिलाई शिक्षण केन्द्र खुलवाए गए। एकीकृत ग्राम विकास के लिए सुन्दरवन इलाके के पाथर प्रतिम ब्लॉक के सागर माधवपुर ग्राम का चयन किया गया। यह एक बड़ा ग्राम है जिसमें १००० से ज्यादा परिवार रहते हैं। यहाँ न बिजली है, नहीं रास्ता एवं । स्कूल भी नहीं है। सिर्फ एक ट्यूबवेल है, उसी से ग्राम में पानी की आपूर्ति होती है। समुद्री इलाका होने के कारण तूफान भी काफी आता है। नदियाँ हैं लेकिन पानी नमकीन है। अत: खेती सिर्फ वर्षा पर निर्भर है। आधुनिक खेती की जानकारी के अभाव में फसल भी ठीक नहीं होती। मुख्य रास्ते पर उतरकर लगभग २ कि.मी. पैदल या साइकिल से जाना पड़ता है। यहाँ वस्त्र, कम्बल एवं गर्म कपड़ों तथा बर्तन वितरण का कार्य किया गया। आने-जाने में असुविधा न हो इसके लिए एक साइकिल वैन ली। गई। ग्राम में पहली बार सौर ऊर्जा चालित दो बत्तियाँ लगीं। पानी की सुविधा के लिए एक गहन ट्यूबवेल (लगभग १३०० फीट) लगवाया गया तथा एक प्राइमरी स्कूल की स्थापना की गई। कृषि की ट्रेनिंग की व्यवस्था की गई जिससे वहाँ मिर्च एवं टमाटर की उन्नत एक से अधिक फसलें होने लगी, इससे ग्रामवासियों की आर्थिक उन्नति भी होने लगी।
अब ग्राम विकास के अन्तर्गत कलकत्ता से २५० कि.मी. दूर बांकुड़ा के जंगल में स्थित भेदुआसोल नामक एक ग्राम का चयन किया गया है। २००६ से यहाँ हमने कुछ कार्य प्रारम्भ किया है। इस ग्राम में न बिजली है, पीने के पानी का भी अभाव है, रोजगार के साधन भी नहीं हैं तथा पूरा ग्राम वनवासियों का है जो कि वन पर निर्भर करते हैं तथा साल पत्तों के पत्तल बनाते हैं। ग्राम माओवादियों के इलाके में पड़ता है। सर्वे का काम चालू है। शीघ्र ही ग्राम विकास का कार्य प्रारम्भ हो जायेगा। भावी योजना : २००८-२००९ में ट्रेनिंग सेन्टर खोलने की है जिससे कृषि एवं अन्यान्य ट्रेनिंग की व्यवस्था रहेगी जिससे ग्रामवासियों का आर्थिक उन्नयन हो तथा ४ स्कूलों में कम्प्यूटर शिक्षण केन्द्र खुलवाना आदि है।
इस कार्य के प्रेरणास्रोत एवं आधार स्तम्भ श्री सरदारमलजी कांकरिया, श्री रिखबदासजी भंसाली, श्री रिधकरण । बोथरा, श्री भंवरलालजी बैद, श्री विनोदजी मिन्नी आदि हैं।

came in contact with this noble philanthropic institution twelve years back. It is like a dream come true where every wish and desire has been fulfilled. The students of Shyam Sunderpur Patna High School in East Midnapore interior have reaped the benefits of the Book Bank. Not only our school but also another 400 schools, more than 25,000 students have largely benefitted through the services of the Book Bank.
The Jain Book Bank has constantly showered its blessings in various spheres. Not only has it stood behind the deserving and meritorious students but has been highly supportive in providing the various schoolrelated accessories like ceilling fans, books, laboratory, equipment, library computers etc. It has erected school buildings with proper water supply in many backward areas, keeping in mind the need and want of the deprived masses. The only slogan that keeps the ball rolling is 'Books for all, Education for all'. A small sentence but a deep connotation. It is one of the most enterprising private body which has been successful in controlling the rate of drop-outs in the rural, backward areas. One of its major focus has been on the education of the girls who are often made victims of poverty, compelled to do domestic works. The Bank performs the mammoth task of showering the ray of light and hope to this under privileged, deprived class.
Our school will be ever indebted to the Jain Book Bank. Their love, concern and helping hand has enabled many of our students to prosper and flourish in life. They have not restricted to the boundaries of the school but have gone much beyond it. They have extended their hands to colleges and other vocational trainings. In short they have transcended all limits.
I would like to end saying that it is my proud privilege and feel deeply honoured to be associated with this noble body, their one and only motto -
Serve, Serve and Serve. I wish them all success and earnestly pray that they celebrated their golden Jubilee in the days to come.
