[The seventh
purpose of afflicting human beings in order to take revenge upon them, while others would be attracted to this world out of passion or in order to test the saints of this world also.

Trans.-330-331 By the statement of some (who are) reminded of (the former) existence by means of direct apprehension, by virtue of) reciting the chantings, of (various) lores, by the movement of planets, due to the existence of the fruition of the accumulation of highly meritorious deeds, by (virtue of) (their) names, and by (the help of) all āgamas, it should be trusted that gods are existing.
