Kasaya Pahuda Sutra
[15 Charitra Moha-Ksapanaadhikara]
1244. In the first samaya, the sukshamasamparaya kartikas (subtle-coiled kartikas) are many. 1245. In the second samaya, the apurva kartikas (unprecedented kartikas) are innumerable and extremely deficient in qualities.
1246. The anantaropanidarsana-mohaniya (infinite-vision-deluding) and charitra-mohaniya (conduct-deluding) and other sub-divisions of the mohaniya (deluding) karma exist. Accordingly, the eighth part of the mohaniya karma is the samjvalana-krodha (flaming anger). Further, this eighth part of the samjvalana-krodha is also divided into its three samgrahakrtis (modes of aggregation). Therefore, the material (dravya) of the first samgrahakrti of krodha (anger) is the twenty-fourth part of the entire material of the mohaniya karma. All the dravya (materials) existing in the form of nokasaya (non-passions) are also found in this first samgrahakrti of krodha. When this is combined with its own dravya, it becomes thirteen out of twenty-four parts (33). Thus, the measure of the antarkrtis (internal kartikas) existing within the first samgrahakrti of krodha is also established to be the same.
When the first samgrahakrti of krodha, which is of the measure of thirteen out of twenty-four parts (33), is transferred to the second samgrahakrti of krodha, its antarkrti becomes fourteen out of twenty-four parts (4). Further, when the second samgrahakrti of krodha is transferred to the third samgrahakrti, its measure becomes fifteen out of twenty-four parts (24). Then, when the third samgrahakrti of krodha is transferred to the first samgrahakrti of mana (pride), its measure becomes sixteen out of twenty-four parts (33). In this way, the measure of the first samgrahakrti of mana, which is sixteen out of twenty-four parts (33), becomes specifically greater than the measure of the first samgrahakrti of krodha, which is thirteen out of twenty-four parts (33), because three out of twenty-four (34) more parts have been added to it.
When the first samgrahakrti of mana is transferred to the first samgrahakrti of maya (deceit), the measure of its antarkrtis becomes specifically greater, that is, nineteen out of twenty-four parts (28), because in the first samgrahakrti of maya, one part each from the second and third samgrahakrtis of mana, as well as one part of its own, that is, a total of three out of twenty-four (2) parts, get added to it. This is why the measure of the antarkrtis related to the first samgrahakrti of maya becomes specifically greater.
When maya is transferred, the measure of the first samgrahakrtis of lobha (greed) becomes specifically greater, that is, twenty out of twenty-four parts (3), because in it, one part each from the second and third samgrahakrtis of maya, as well as one part of its own, that is, a total of three more parts, get added.
The measure of the sukshamasamparaya kartikas (subtle-coiled kartikas) performed in the first samaya becomes specifically greater, that is, twenty-four out of twenty-four parts (34), because two parts related to the second and third samgrahakrtis of lobha get added to them. In this way, the measure of this increasing speciality is established to be in the numerical fraction of the preceding measure.
1864. The Churni Sutra states that the sukshamasamparaya kartikas performed in the first samaya are many, while the apurva kartikas performed in the second samaya are innumerable and extremely deficient in qualities.
