## 15 Charitramohakṣapaṇā - Artha-Adhikāra
**15 Charitramohakṣapaṇā - Meaning Authority**
**Karma-kṣaya** (destruction of karma) **kar jo bane, śuddha buddh adhikār | Bhāyūṁ tinako naman kar, yah kṣapaṇā adhikār ||** (He who becomes capable of destroying karma, he has the authority of pure knowledge. Bow down to those three, this is the authority of kṣapaṇā.)
**Cūrṇisu. -** In the kṣapaṇā of Charitramohaniya (the karma that causes attachment to conduct), the **Adhapravṛtta-karaṇa-kāla** (the time of the beginning of the destruction of karma), **Apūrva-karaṇa-kāla** (the time of the completion of the destruction of karma), and **Anivṛtti-karaṇa-kāla** (the time of the non-reoccurrence of karma), these three times should be constructed in a mutually connected and **ekāvalī** (single line) manner, i.e., in the form of an ascending series. After that, the positions of the karmas that exist in the being should be constructed separately. From the **jghana** (inferior) **spardhaka** (competitor) to the **utkṛṣṭa** (superior) **spardhaka** (competitor) of the **anubhāga** (part) related to those karmas, a **spardhakāvalī** (series of competitors) should be constructed. || 1-3 ||
**Cūrṇisu. -** After that, at the final time of **Adhapravṛtta-karaṇa**, "The soul increases by purification" should be used as the beginning, and the **vibhāṣā** (explanation) of these four **sūtra-gāthā** (sūtra verses) related to the **prasthāpanā** (establishment) should be done. It is as follows: "What is the **pariṇāma** (result) of the **saṁkrāmaṇa-prasthāpaka** (the one who begins the destruction of the **kṣaya** (afflictions))?" This is the **vibhāṣā** of the first **gāthā**. It is as follows: The **pariṇāma** (result) is **viśuddha** (pure) and even before the beginning of the destruction of the **kṣaya** (afflictions), it is becoming **viśuddha** (pure) by **ananta-guṇā** (infinite qualities) **viśuddhi** (purity) from the **antar-muhūrta** (inner moment) before. The **vibhāṣā** of the word "**yoga**" is done: The being who destroys the **kṣaya** (afflictions) is either one of the four **mano-yoga** (mental yogas), one of the four **vacana-yoga** (verbal yogas), or an **audārika-kāya-yoga** (generous bodily yoga). The **vibhāṣā** of the word "**kṣaya**" is done: It is connected with the arising of one of the four **kṣaya** (afflictions).
