1. The one who experiences lobha (greed) has no differentiation.
2. The one who experiences maya (illusion) has no differentiation.
3. The one who experiences mana (pride) has differentiation as long as krodha (anger) is not suppressed. When krodha is suppressed, the sequence of arising of qualities of krodha does not occur, and only mana is experienced.
4. These two differentiations exist until the one becomes adhaḥpravṛttasaṃyata (subdued in the downward state).
5. What is the first stage of maya for the upashamaka (one who attains subsidence of passions) who is affected by the mayyā-upashamaka (subsidence of the passion of illusion)?
6. The first stages of krodha, mana, and maya for the one affected by krodha are the three first stages. When these three first stages are combined, that becomes the first stage of maya for the one affected by the mayyā-upashamaka.
7. Then, the one experiencing maya suppresses krodha, mana, and maya together.
8. Then, for the one who has suppressed lobha, there is no differentiation.
9. For the one who, after suppressing the passions, again experiences the rising of lobha, there is no differentiation.
10. For the one experiencing maya, there is differentiation, which is as follows:
The layering of the three types of maya and the three types of lobha is similar to other karmas, and the remaining layering is also similar.
The one experiencing the remaining passions is suppressed by maya.
