Preface: These are the eight karmas. 51. Twenty-two divisions with right belief. 52. Twenty-three divisions with right faith. 53. Twenty-four divisions with wrong belief. 54. In the Kasayapahuda Churni, the description of the 15 states of Moha (delusion) has been given in the ascending order as per the accepted style. However, the description of the same states of Moha has been given in the descending order in the Kammapayadi Churni, which the Churnikara himself has indicated.
As per the Kammapayadi Churni:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 13, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28 are the states of Mohaniryya (that which destroys Moha). For the sake of easy understanding, the reverse order is explained.
From the twenty-eight, all the Moha-samudaya (arising of Moha). Then the twenty-seven that are above it. Then the twenty-six of Samyag-mithyatva (mixed right and wrong belief). Then the twenty-four of Mithyatva (wrong belief). Then the twenty-three of Samyag-mithyatva. Then the twenty-two of Samyaktva (right belief). Then the thirteen of the eight Kasayas (passions). Then the twelve of Napumsaka-veda (neuter gender). Then the eleven of Itthi-veda (feminine gender). Then the five of Channa-kasayas (hidden passions). Then the four of Purisa-veda (masculine gender). Then the three of Krodha-samjalana (rise of anger). Then the two of Mana-samjalana (rise of pride). Then the one Lobha (greed) of Maya-samjalana (rise of deceit).
The Churnikara has stated the reason for explaining in the descending order, for the sake of convenience in narration.
(2) The ownership of the excellent state of Samyag-mithyatva and Samyaktva-prakriti is described in the Kasayapahuda Churni as follows:
Sutra 8. In that in which Mithyatva and Samyag-mithyatva are included, the excellent state belongs to Samyag-mithyatva. 6. Similarly, in that in which Samyag-mithyatva and Samyaktva are included, the excellent state belongs to Samyaktva.
Now, match this with the Kammapayadi Churni:
At the time when Mithyatva and Samyag-mithyatva are completely mixed, the excellent state belongs to Samyag-mithyatva. At the time when Samyag-mithyatva and Samyaktva are completely mixed, the excellent state belongs to Samyaktva.
