**Kasaya Pahud Sutta**
**153.** These are the various Kasaya-Uvasamanādo (stages of destruction of passions) that are being discussed.
**154.** How many are the entry points for the path (to liberation) that are to be considered?
**155.** Twenty-one entry points are entered by the destruction of the Darshanamohaniya karma (karma that obscures right faith).
**156.** Thirteen entry points are entered by the destruction of the eight Kasayas (passions). These are the options mentioned above, in relation to the Jiva (soul) who has fallen from the state of complete destruction of passions. || 152 - 153 ||
**Special Meaning:** The entry points of the Mohkarma (karma that obscures knowledge) described above, should be understood in relation to the Jiva who has fallen from the state of complete destruction of passions and reached the Mithyatva Gunasthan (state of false belief). However, there are other possibilities for the Jiva who falls from the state of complete destruction of passions and attains death, being reborn as a Deva (god). These possibilities are as follows:
The Jiva who falls from the state of complete destruction of passions, destroys three types of Lobha (greed), enters three Prakritis (natural tendencies), dies and is reborn as a Deva. At the time of birth, the five Prakritis - Purushaved (knowledge of the self), Hasya (laughter), Rati (pleasure), Bhaya (fear) and Jugupsa (disgust) - arise simultaneously, resulting in the entry of eight Prakritis into the Udayavali (stream of arising).
Similarly, the Jiva who falls from the state of complete destruction of passions, enters six Prakritis into the Udayavali, dies and is reborn as a Deva. At the time of birth, the five Prakritis mentioned above arise simultaneously, resulting in the entry of eleven Prakritis into the Udayavali.
The Jiva who falls from the state of complete destruction of passions, enters nine Prakritis into the Udayavali and dies, has fourteen Prakritis enter the Udayavali at the time of birth as a Deva.
Similarly, the Jiva who destroys all three types of Krodha (anger), enters twelve Prakritis into the Udayavali and dies, has fifteen Prakritis enter the Udayavali at the time of birth as a Deva, due to the simultaneous arising of the remaining three Prakritis, excluding Bhaya and Jugupsa.
The same or similar Jiva, with the arising of either Bhaya or Jugupsa, has sixteen Prakritis enter the Udayavali, and with the arising of both, has seventeen Prakritis enter the Udayavali.
Thus, the entry points of eight, eleven, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen and seventeen Prakritis are found at the time of birth as a Deva. It should be understood that these are not mentioned by the Churnikar (commentator) in relation to the Sthana (state) of the Jiva.

**Churnisū. 0 -** Now, it is necessary to investigate how many entry points there are in relation to the Kshapaka (destruction of karma). Twenty-one Prakritis enter the Udayavali upon the destruction of the Darshanamohaniya karma. The remaining thirteen Prakritis enter the Udayavali upon the destruction of the eight Kasayas - the four Apratyakhyana (non-rejectable) and the four Pratyakhyana (rejectable).
In other words, the aforementioned Kshayika Samyagdristi Jiva (Jiva with complete right faith and destruction of karma), ascends to the Kshapaka श्रेणी (category) and enters the ninth Gunasthan (state), destroys the eight Kasayas, and then, until the Antahkarana (inner organ) is destroyed, the thirteen Prakritis - four Sanjwalana Kasayas (passions that cause agitation) and nine Nokapas (passions that cause attachment) - enter the Udayavali. || 154 - 156 ||
