The Six Kasaya Pahuda Sutra
[Sixth Vedaka Arthadhikara]
26. "The Praveshaka (entry) of the nine Prakriti (psychic states) has twenty-four Bhangas (modes)." 27. "The Praveshaka (entry) of the ten Prakriti (psychic states) has twenty-four Bhangas." 28. "The Gatha (verse) for the declaration of these Bhangas is given below." 29. As follows:
The twenty-four Bhangas occur without the fear (Bhaya) but with disgust (Jugupsa) of the sixth kind. The twenty-four Bhangas of the Sasadana Samyagdristi (partially right-viewed) occur without the disgust (Jugupsa) but with the manifestation of fear (Bhaya) of any one of the Anantanubandhi Kasayas (passions that bind one infinitely). The twenty-four Bhangas of the eighth kind occur with the manifestation of disgust (Jugupsa) without fear (Bhaya). The twenty-four Bhangas of the ninth kind occur with the manifestation of Mithyatva (false belief) along with the fear (Bhaya) of the Mithyadristi (wrongly-viewed) existing in the Samyukta Prathamavali (combined first stage). The twenty-four Bhangas of the tenth kind occur with the manifestation of Mithyatva (false belief) without fear (Bhaya) but with disgust (Jugupsa). The twenty-four Bhangas of the eleventh kind occur with the manifestation of Mithyatva (false belief) without fear (Bhaya) and disgust (Jugupsa) along with any one of the Anantanubandhi Kasayas (passions that bind one infinitely). Thus, the total number of Bhangas in the eight Prakriti Udirana (manifestation) Sthana (places) is two hundred and sixty-four.
Churni Sutra - The twenty-four Bhangas occur in a single mode for the one who manifests the nine Prakriti (psychic states).
Vishesha-artha - The first twenty-four Bhangas occur for the Asamyata Vedaka Samyagdristi (non-restrained knower with right belief) who manifests the Samyaktva Prakriti (psychic state of right belief), Pratyakhyanavarana (deluding karmas obstructing vows), Apratyakhyanavarana (deluding karmas obstructing partial vows), any one Kasaya (passion) of the Samvalanatmaka Chaturthaka (four-fold passions), any one Veda (Vedic knowledge), any one pair of Hasyadi (laughter, attachment, and aversion), and Bhaya (fear) and Jugupsa (disgust).
The second twenty-four Bhangas occur for the Samyagmithyadristi (one with mixed right and wrong belief) who manifests the Samyaktva Prakriti by excluding it and Mithyatva (false belief) by including it.
The third set of twenty-four Bhangas occur for the Sasadana Samyagdristi (partially right-viewed) who manifests any one Anantanubandhi (passions that bind one infinitely) in place of Mithyatva.
The fourth set of twenty-four Bhangas occur for the Mithyadristi (wrongly-viewed) who manifests the eight Prakriti (psychic states) along with Mithyatva of the Samyukta Prathamavali (combined first stage).
The fifth set of twenty-four Bhangas occur for the same Mithyadristi who manifests the said Prakriti without fear (Bhaya) but with disgust (Jugupsa) of any one Anantanubandhi (passion that binds one infinitely).
The sixth set of twenty-four Bhangas occur for the same Mithyadristi who manifests the said Prakriti without disgust (Jugupsa) but with fear (Bhaya).
Thus, the total number of Bhangas is one hundred and forty-four.
Churni Sutra - The twenty-four Bhangas occur in a single mode for the one who manifests the ten Prakriti (psychic states).
Vishesha-artha - The twenty-four Bhangas occur for the Mithyadristi (wrongly-viewed) who manifests Mithyatva (false belief), any one Kasaya Chaturthaka (four-fold passions) of the Anantanubandhi type, any one Veda (Vedic knowledge), any one pair of Hasyadika (laughter, attachment, and aversion), and Bhaya (fear) and Jugupsa (disgust). Since no other alternative is possible, the twenty-four Bhangas are stated in a single mode.
Churni Sutra - The Gatha (verse) for the declaration of the Bhangas of the ten Prakriti Udirana (manifestation) Sthana (places) is as follows.
