Kasaya Pahuda Sutta [6 Vedaka-arthadhikara 2.1. The twenty-four Bhangas of the entry of the four Prakrities. 22. The twenty-four Bhangas of the entry of the five Prakrities. 23. The twenty-four Bhangas of the entry of the six Prakrities.]
Churni Su.-The person who arouses the four Prakrities has twenty-four Bhangas. ||21||
Visesartha-With the pair of Hasyarati and Aratisokathe arousing of one Veda and one Samjvalana-kasaya results in four Prakriti-form arousal-places. Therefore, the above-mentioned twelve Bhangas can also arise with the pair of Hasyarati as well as with the pair of Aratisokarati. Thus, the person who arouses the four Prakrities has (124 2-24) twenty-four Bhangas.
Churni Su.-The person who arouses the five Prakrities has twenty-four multiplied by four Bhangas. ||22||
Visesartha-In the above-mentioned four Prakriti-form arousal-places, if Bhaya, Jugupsa, Samyaktva-Prakrti, or any one Pratyakhyanavarana-kasaya enters, then there are five Prakriti-form arousal-places. Therefore, by combining the above-mentioned twenty-four Bhangas with the arousal of these four Prakrities, there are twenty-four multiplied by four, that is, (24x4=96) ninety-six Bhangas. The explanation is as follows-with the arousal of Bhaya-Prakrti, the above-mentioned 24 Bhangas; with the arousal of Jugupsa-Prakrti, 24 Bhangas; with the arousal of Samyaktva-Prakrti, excluding Bhaya and Jugupsa, 24 Bhangas; thus, 72 Bhangas for the Pramatta-apramatta-samyatas. And for the Ksayika-samyagdrsti or Aupashamika-samyagdrsti-samyatas, without Bhaya-Jugupsa, with the entry of any Pratyakhyanavarana-kasaya, there are 24 additional Bhangas. Thus, in total, the person who arouses the five Prakrities has (72+24=96) ninety-six Bhangas.
- Churni Su.-The person who arouses the six Prakrities has twenty-four multiplied by seven Bhangas. ||23||
Visesartha-In the above-mentioned five Prakriti-form arousal-places, if Bhaya, Jugupsa, or Apratyakhyanavarana-kasaya is added, then there are six Prakriti-form arousal-places. The seven-multiplied twenty-four, that is, (24 x 7=168) one hundred and sixty-eight Bhangas occur in this place. They are as follows-for the Aupashamika-samyagdrsti or Ksayika-samyagdrsti-samyatas, with the arousal of Bhaya and Jugupsa-Prakrities, the above-mentioned first 24 Bhangas; for the Vedaka-samyagdrsti-samyatas, without Bhaya, only with Jugupsa-Prakrti, the second 24 Bhangas; for the same, without Jugupsa, only with Bhaya-Prakrti, the third 24 Bhangas; thus, 72 Bhangas occur based on the refuge of the Samyatas. Again, for the Aupashamika or Ksayika-samyagdrsti-samyatas, without Jugupsa, with any one Pratyakhyanavarana-kasaya, the experiencing of Bhaya-Prakrti, the fourth 24 Bhangas occur. For the same person, without Bhaya, with any one Pratyakhyanavarana-kasaya and Jugupsa, the fifth
