Exposition of the Gradation of the Extent of Transmigration
229. Just as in the case of the gati (state of existence) of the nāraka (hell-beings), so also in the case of the tiryañca (animals) gati, the extent of transmigration (pradesa-samkrama) is to be understood.
230. In the case of the deva (celestial beings) gati, there is a difference; the extent of transmigration from the napuṃsaka-veda (neuter sex) to the strī-veda (female sex) is infinitely (asaṃkhyāta-guṇa) greater.
231. In the case of samyaktva (right faith), the extent of transmigration in the lowest stage is the least.
232. In the case of samyag-mithyātva (mixed right and wrong faith), the extent of transmigration in the lowest stage is infinitely (asaṃkhyāta-guṇa) greater.
233. In the case of anantānubandhī-māna (the pride that leads to infinite transmigration), the extent of transmigration in the lowest stage is infinitely (asaṃkhyāta-guṇa) greater.
234. In the case of krodha (anger), the extent of transmigration in the lowest stage is particularly (visesa-ādhika) greater.
