## Chapter 58: Inter-Differentiation of Transition Stages
**Verse 205:** The minimum time for the twenty-one-natured transition stage is one *samaya*, and the maximum time is thirty-three *sagaropama* less one *samaya*.
**Verse 206:** The minimum time for the fourteen, nine, and six-natured transition stages is one *samaya*, and the maximum time is two *avali* less one *samaya*.
**Verse 207:** Alternatively, the maximum time for the transition stages mentioned above can also be an *antarmuhurta*.
**Verse 208:** The minimum time for the twenty-one-natured transition stage is one *samaya*. This is because a being with twenty-four natures, after subduing the *napuṃsakaved* and becoming a twenty-one-natured being, dies and becomes a deity in the same *samaya*.
**Verse 209:** Alternatively, a being with twenty-four natures, who is a *samyagdṛṣṭi* with *upasama*, has one *samaya* remaining in their lifespan. Upon attaining the *sāsādanaguṇasthāna*, they also experience the twenty-one-natured transition stage for only one *samaya*.
**Verse 210:** The maximum time for the twenty-one-natured transition stage is thirty-three *sagaropama* less one *samaya*. This is because a being with twenty-four natures, who has come from the heavenly or hellish realms to the human realm, is born and lives for more than eight years, but less than an *antarmuhurta*. They then experience the *darśanamoha* and become a twenty-one-natured being. They then practice *samyama* and live for a period of time equivalent to a *deśona pūrva koṭi*. At the end of their life, they die and become a deity in one of the *vijaya* or other *anuttar* *vimāna* realms. They live for a period of time equivalent to thirty-three *sagaropama* less one *samaya*. After their lifespan is complete, they are reborn as a human being with a lifespan equivalent to a *pūrva koṭi*. When only an *antarmuhurta* remains before their attainment of liberation, they ascend the *kṣapaka* series, destroy the eight middle *kṣaya*, and become a thirteen-natured being. Thus, the maximum time for the twenty-one-natured transition stage is two *antarmuhurta* plus eight years, but less than two *pūrva koṭi* and more than thirty-three *sagaropama*.
**Verse 211:** Now, we will discuss the difference between the transition stages in relation to a single being.
**Verse 212:** What is the difference in time between the twenty-seven, twenty-six, twenty-three, and twenty-one-natured transition stages?
