## **Verse 30: Description of the Transition Stages in the *Pratigraha* Stage**
**29.** The transition from the 26th and 27th *pratigraha* stages occurs in the four *pratigraha* stages of 22, 15, 11, and 19 *pratikrama* stages.
**30.** The transition from the 17th and 21st *pratigraha* stages occurs in the 25th *pratigraha* stage. The rules for these transitions are the same in all four *gati* (paths) and in the three *dristi* (views).
**Explanation:**
This verse describes the transition stages between different *pratigraha* stages. It states that a *mithyadristi* (false-view) being with 27 *pratikrama* stages will have a 26th *pratigraha* stage and a 22nd *pratigraha* stage. When this being attains *upasama* *samyaktv* (partial right view), *samyama* *asamyama* (partial control with partial non-control), and *samyama* *samyaktv* (partial control with right view), it will have a 19th, 15th, and 11th *pratigraha* stage, respectively, and a 26th *pratigraha* stage.
Similarly, a *mithyadristi* being with 28 *pratikrama* stages will have a 27th *pratigraha* stage and a 22nd *pratigraha* stage. When this being attains *upasama* *samyaktv*, *samyama* *asamyama*, and *samyama* *samyaktv*, it will have a 19th, 15th, and 11th *pratigraha* stage, respectively, and a 27th *pratigraha* stage.
The verse also states that the transition from the 17th and 21st *pratigraha* stages occurs in the 25th *pratigraha* stage. This transition is the same in all four *gati* and in the three *dristi*.
**Note:**
* *Pratigraha* refers to the stage of the soul where it is still bound by karma.
* *Pratikrama* refers to the number of *pratigraha* stages a soul has to go through before it can attain liberation.
* *Gati* refers to the four paths of existence: *naraka* (hell), *tiryanch* (animal), *manushya* (human), and *deva* (heaven).
* *Dristi* refers to the three views: *mithyadristi* (false view), *samyaktv* (right view), and *upasama* *samyaktv* (partial right view).
