**The author of the text, Yativrubaacharya, introduces the fifth Arthaadhikaara, called Sankrama, in the fifth Moolagathaa of Uttar Sutra.**
**Churnisoo:** Sankrama is the subject matter, meaning the description of Sankrama will be given. ||1||
**Vishesharth:** This Sankrama is introduced through four aspects: Upkrama, Nikkhepa, Naya, and Anugam. Without these, true knowledge of Sankrama cannot be attained. Now, the Churnikaar introduces Sankrama through Upkrama.
**Churnisoo:** The Upkrama of Sankrama is of five types: Aanupurvi, Naama, Pramaan, Vattavvada, and Arthaadhikaara. ||2||
**Vishesharth:** Aanupurvi Upkrama has three divisions. Compared to the previous Aanupurvi, this Sankrama Arthaadhikaara is the fifth out of fifteen Arthaadhikaaras in the Kasayapaahudu. Naama Upkrama is the secondary name "Sankrama" because it describes the transition of actions in detail. From the perspective of Pramaan Upkrama, its evidence is numerical compared to Akshara, Pada, Sanghaata, Pratipatti, and Anuyogadvaara, and infinite in terms of meaning. Vattavvada Upkrama refers to the timely expression of Sankrama. Arthaadhikaara of Sankrama is of four types: Prakriti Sankrama, Sthiti Sankrama, Anubhaaga Sankrama, and Pradesh Sankrama. This fifth Arthaadhikaara will discuss these four types of Sankrama.
Now, the Nikkhepa Upkrama is introduced.
**Churnisoo:** Here, the Nikkhepa of Sankrama should be done. It is of six types: Naama Sankrama, Sthaapana Sankrama, Davya Sankrama, Kshetra Sankrama, Kaala Sankrama, and Bhaava Sankrama. ||3-4||
Now, the Naya is introduced.
**Churnisoo:** The Naigama Naya accepts all Sankramas. It considers both Davya and Paryaya. Sangraha Naya and Vyavahaara Naya exclude Kaala Sankrama.
