Verse 22]
Exposition of the Ownership of the State of Existence
239
Two | 34. The highest state of the Nishreyas (liberation) is his. 35. The jighanya (lowest) Avadhi (clairvoyance) that is antar-muhurta-uttara (extending beyond an antarmuhurta) and anudinna (not manifested) in this very time, thereafter he went to the upper half of the Yogasthanas (abodes of the Narakis). 36. He expounded the Yoga that is dvisamayahiya-avadhi-carimakala-anudinna (not manifested in the last moment of the two-time Avadhi) and ekasamayahiya-avadhi-carimakala-anudinna (not manifested in the last moment of the one-time Avadhi). 37. The highest Sthiti (state of existence) of his Nishreyas is the Sthitipratyaya (substratum of the state of existence). 38. The Nishreyas Sthitipratyaya is also the highest.
39 Whose is the highest Udayasthitipratyaya (substratum of the state of arising)? 40. The one who, having performed the Samyama (self-restraint) and Samyamaguna-shreshthini (the highest of the series of self-restraint), attained Mithyatva (false belief), at the time when the Gunashreni-shiras (the peak of the series of qualities) arose, for him the highest Udayasthiti of Mithyatva is the Pratyaya (substratum). 41. Similarly, for the Samyaktva (right belief) and Samyag-mithyatva (mixed right and wrong belief) also. 42. Further, the highest Udayasthitipratyaya is the Kshinavadhi (diminished Avadhi) Bhanga (destruction). 43. The jighanya (lowest) Avadhi that is antar-muhurta-adhika (extending beyond an antarmuhurta) and anudinna (not manifested) in this very time, thereafter he went to the upper half of the Yogasthanas, i.e., he stayed above the Yavamajjha (middle region) for an antarmuhurta period. Then, when the last moment of two-time more Avadhi and the last moment of one-time more Avadhi were not manifested, he attained the highest Yoga. Thus, the highest Yathanisheka (appropriate) Sthitipratyaya of the Mithyatva of that Naraki is obtained. And the highest Nisheka (appropriate) Sthitipratyaya of the same Naraki is also obtained.
