180 Kasaya Pahuda Sutra
(12) Ownership based on a single soul - In this anuyogadvara, the ownership of the highest and lowest spatial divisions of karmas has been considered with reference to a single soul. For example, who is the owner of the highest spatial division of the mohaniya karma? The soul that has remained for less than two thousand sagaropamas in the gross earth-bodied beings, in them its fully-developed births were more and the partially-developed births were less. The fully-developed period was long and the partially-developed period was short. It repeatedly attained the highest yogasthanas and repeatedly experienced the most severe afflictions. Wandering in this way, it was born among the gross one-sensed beings. While wandering among them, its fully-developed births were more and the partially-developed births were less. The fully-developed period was long and the partially-developed period was short. Even there, it repeatedly attained the highest yogasthanas and the most severe afflictions. Wandering in this way in the cycle of rebirth, it became a 33 sagaropama-lived hellish being in the seventh earth. After coming out from there, it was born among the five-sensed beings and after remaining there for just an antarmuhurta, it died and was again born among the 33 sagaropama-lived hellish beings. After the lapse of 33 sagaropamas for that soul, in the final antarmuhurta, the highest spatial division of the mohaniya karma occurs. The lowest spatial division of the mohaniya karma occurs for the ascetic in the final stage who has risen up the descending scale.
The description is of two types - by the flow and by the direction. By the flow, what is the description of the highest and lowest spatial divisions of the mohaniya karma? Is it beginningless-eternal, eternal, or non-eternal? It is beginningless-eternal and non-eternal.
(12) Ownership based on a single soul - Ownership is of two types - lowest and highest. The highest is explained. The description is of two types - by the flow and by the direction. By the flow, whose is the highest spatial division of the mohaniya karma? It is of any one of the four-gati, five-sensed, right-believer or wrong-believer, who is fully engaged in all activities. By the direction, the highest spatial division of the mohaniya karma is of the one who is in the seventh hell, having a life-span of 33 sagaropamas. The lowest spatial division of the seven karmas, whose is it? It is of the ascetic in the first moment of the subtle-nigoda life, who is in the lowest yogasthana. Ownership is of two types - lowest and highest. The highest is explained. The description is of two types - by the flow and by the direction. By the flow, whose is the highest spatial division of the mohaniya karma? It is of the one who has remained for less than two thousand sagaropamas in the gross earth-bodied beings, as described earlier in the 'veyanaas'. Thus, he was born among the hellish beings of the seventh earth, having a life-span of 33 sagaropamas. Then, after remaining there, he died within an antarmuhurta and was again born among the 33 sagaropama-lived hellish beings. Again, at the end of those 33 sagaropamas, in the final antarmuhurta, the highest spatial division of the mohaniya karma occurs for him. By the flow, whose is the lowest spatial division of the mohaniya karma? It is of the one who has attained the first moment of the subtle-nigoda life, as described earlier in the 'veyanaas'. Thus, he has become the final-moment ascetic, and this is the lowest spatial division of the mohaniya karma for him.
