They had gone. But its publication stopped in 42 and until now, when this book was sent to the press, two parts of Jayadhavala's translation had been published and the third and fourth parts were in the press, therefore it was considered appropriate that the initial notes should not be given. Accordingly, giving notes from the Sakram-Adhikar was started. But when the size of the book appeared to be increasing, giving notes beyond what was written by Ba. Chhote Lalji was stopped.
The translation of Kasayapahuḍ was started in 41 and its completion was in 53. In this long period of 12 years, I had to go through many difficult situations, in addition to physical and mental ailments, I also had to face many ironies, financial crises, and the loss of loved ones and unfavorable coincidences, therefore, I could not maintain uniformity in the translation from beginning to end. Due to the non-availability of copies everywhere and the rarity of mental peace, I could not revise the translation from beginning to end. When the first part was sent to the press, even after trying to get a copy of Jayadhavala with the new situation-division, it could not be found anywhere. Therefore, the editing of this place was done completely in the dark. This is the reason why there are some more errors in this part and one sutra is also left out from being printed, which was pointed out by my fellow senior brother, Shriman P. Phool Chandji Siddhanta Shastri. Almost all the special meanings of the Sakram chapter were written with his help. And his full cooperation was there in the decision of all the Churni sutras from this point onwards, for which I am very grateful to him.
I am grateful to the venerable, elderly, Bra. Shriman P. Jugalkishorji Mukhtar Sa. from beginning to end. He was the one who inspired me for this work and it is due to his courtesy that this first part has been published without any hindrance.
In what words can I express my gratitude to Shriman Ba. Chhote Lalji Sa. of Calcutta? Who, despite the opposition raised against not publishing this book after it was sent to the press, did not stop the publication. It is only due to his firmness and foresight that the book is presented before the readers in its present form. Despite being a born gentleman, you are far away from the arrogance of being a gentleman. You are very simple, humble and thoughtful by nature. You have a strong desire to bring to light the ancient literature of the Digambar sect. You are the president of the Veer Seva Mandir and the minister of Veer Shasan Sabha. Leaving aside your household business, you are now completely dedicated to the upliftment of these two institutions, not even caring about your health. With your help, Poo. Mukhtar Sa., there is a lot of hope for the publication of many rare and unique books of Jain literature. May both of you live long and healthy, this is a wish for your well-being.
The original text of the appendix was printed at the Gyan Mandal Press in Varanasi and everything from the publication statement to the errata was printed at the Sanmati Press, Kinari Bazaar, Delhi. During the printing period, the operators and managers of both the presses have been very courteous, therefore I am grateful to you all.
The present book is vast and difficult, therefore, even after taking sufficient care, if there is any mistake in the original or meaning, then knowledgeable people should correct it by reading it, because according to the saying 'Ko na vimuhhyati shastrasmudire', it is very possible to make mistakes.
