Kasaya Pahuda Sutra (21) These are the sixteen types of kasayas (passions) in the four kasayas.
What and how is the bondage in the two-fold and one-fold degree of intensity? (74) In the case of mana (pride), the highest category is the highest degree, and the lowest category is the lowest degree in terms of the quality. (75) Niyama (rule) is that the one with the lowest degree of intensity is infinitely inferior in quality. (76) The rest are gradually inferior in quality according to the rule of infinite inferiority. (77) The rule is that the one with the lowest degree of intensity is inferior in the degree of intensity and the category. The rest are gradually superior in quality according to the rule of infinite superiority. (78) The bondage from one type to another type is also according to the rule, and both are specifically inferior in the degree. (79) Further, the entire obscuring karma (sarvavaraniya) of the one with the lowest degree of intensity is the lowest, and the obscuring karma below is the entire obscuring karma, and the one above is the entire obscuring karma. (80) This is the order in the case of mana (pride), maya (deceit), and also in the case of lobha (greed). All the karmas of krodha (anger) should also be understood in the four types of intensity. (81) Among these types of intensity, which state is bound, which is being destroyed, which is subsiding, and which is arising? (82) They should be understood in the case of the possessed and the non-possessed, the realized and the non-realized, the right faith and the wrong faith, and the mixed. (83) They should also be understood in the case of the abstinent and the non-abstinent, the partially abstinent, the householder, the ascetic, and the color (lesya). (84) Knowing which state, the bondage of whose intensity occurs, and knowing which state, the non-bondage of whose intensity occurs? (85) The non-possessed (asanni) certainly binds the one with the lowest degree of intensity and the one with the lowest degree of intensity. The possessed (sanni) is divided into four, and thus it should be done everywhere.
