Kasaya Pahuda Sutta [Pashchima Skandha-Arthadhikara]
9. Then, in the third moment, he performs the manthana (churning).
10. In the same way, he undergoes nirjara (shedding) in the anubhaga (subtle part).
11. Then, in the fourth moment, he fills the loka (universe).
12. When the loka is filled, a vargana (group) of yoga is to be known as 'samayoga'.
13. When the loka is filled, he establishes (the karmas) for an antarmuhurta (less than 48 minutes).
14. (This is) countless times more than the ayus (lifespan).
Churnisu: Thereafter, in the third moment, they perform the manthana (churning). In this, they undergo nirjara (shedding) of the aghatiyas (non-destructive karmas) in the same way as the anubhaga (subtle part) is churned.
Vishesha-artha: The state by which the condition and anubhaga (subtle part) of the aghatiyas (non-destructive karmas) is churned, is called manthana-samudghata. It is also called pratara-samudghata and rujaka-samudghata. In this samudghata, the atma-pradesha (soul-space) spreads in all directions like a vata-valaya (air-circle), i.e., it expands throughout the entire loka (universe), leaving aside the vata-valaya-ruddha (air-circle-obstructed) region. In this samudghata, there is no difference whether it is facing the east or the north. In this state, the sayogi-jinas (co-yoked ascetics) become karmana-kayayogi (having a karmic body) and anahari (non-eaters), i.e., there is an absence of pulsation of the atma-pradesha due to the support of the mula-sharira (main body), and the acceptance of the pudgala-pinda (karmic matter-aggregate) suitable for the sthiti (status) of the audarikaShareera (gross body) also does not occur.
Churnisu: Thereafter, in the fourth moment, they fill the loka (universe). When the loka is filled from the atma-pradesha (soul-space), a vargana (group) of yoga occurs. This should be known as 'samayoga'.
Vishesha-artha: In the fourth moment, the atma-pradesha of the Kevali Bhagavan (Omniscient Lord) also pervades the vata-valaya-ruddha (air-circle-obstructed) region, therefore, it is called loka-purana-samudghata (universe-filling churning). It is with reference to this samudghata that the measurement of the jiva's (living being's) pradesha (space) is said to be equal to the pradesha of the loka-akasha (space of the universe). In this state, the eight middle pradesha below the nabhika (navel) of the jiva remain situated together with the eight middle pradesha originating from the mula (base) of Sumeru. It is in this state that the Kevali Bhagavan is said to be sarvagata (all-pervading) or sarvavyapi (omnipresent). In this samudghata also, there is karmana-kayayoga (connection with the karmic body) and the state of anahari (non-eater) prevails. In this state, all the jiva-pradesha (soul-spaces) of the present Kevali become similar without any increase or decrease in their yoga-sambandha-avibhaga-pratichhedas (non-separation connections of yoga), therefore, they are called 'samayoga', and for this reason, they are said to be a single vargana (group). This samayoga-parinama (transformation of equanimity) should be known as the madhyama-vargana (middle group) superior by countless times to the jaghanya-vargana (inferior group) of the sakshma-nigodiya (extremely subtle nigodas) jivas.
Churnisu: After the filling of the loka, he establishes the sthiti (status) of the aghatiyas (non-destructive karmas) for an antarmuhurta (less than 48 minutes). This antarmuhurta-pramita (measured by antarmuhurta) sthiti is countless times more than the sthiti of the ayus (lifespan) karma.
Vishesha-artha: After performing the loka-purana-samudghata, although the sthiti (status) of the aghatiyas (non-destructive karmas) is established for an antarmuhurta (less than 48 minutes), it is countless times more than the sthiti of the ayus (lifespan) karma.
