The well-known author of hundreds of texts, Acharya Haribhadra, is considered to be the creator of this brief commentary. However, there is currently no undisputed evidence available to us on this subject. Muni Shri Jambuvijayji has compared the commentaries of Haribhadra and Siddhasena and indicated that Haribhadra took inspiration from Siddhasena's commentary. If this is correct, it can be said that Haribhadra's commentary was written after Siddhasena's commentary.
Yashobhadra and his disciple Haribhadra wrote commentary on five and a half chapters. After this, it seems certain that the remaining parts of the Tattvarthabhāṣya were composed by two individuals. One of them is Acharya Yashobhadra, and the other is his disciple, whose name is unknown. This unknown disciple of Yashobhadra wrote a commentary only on the final aphorism of the tenth chapter. The earlier parts, namely the remaining commentary portions that were left out by Haribhadra, are attributed to Yashobhadra. This is made clear by the words of Yashobhadrasuri's disciple. In the Shvetambara tradition, there have been many Acharyas and authors named Yashobhadra. It is unknown which Yashobhadra is the author of the present commentary. There is no conclusive evidence that the author of this incomplete commentary on Yashobhadra was a disciple of Haribhadra. On the contrary, it can be said that if this Yashobhadra were a disciple of Haribhadra, the Yashobhadra's disciples who concluded the commentary and mentioned that Haribhadra's incomplete commentary was supplemented by their teacher Yashobhadra would hardly have omitted any special designation like "Haribhadra's disciple" alongside their teacher's name. Nonetheless, it is still worth considering when this Yashobhadra existed and whether he had other works or not.
