**Tattvarthasutra**
[8.6-14: A living being is complete if it attains an adequate existence through its own nature; conversely, if it cannot complete its adequate existence due to certain causes, it is incomplete. 7-8: The karma that leads a being to attain various bodies is classified as individual, while the karma that results in the possession of a common body for infinite beings is termed collective. 9-10: The karma that produces stable components such as bones and teeth is associated with the stable, whereas the karma that generates unstable components like the tongue is classified as unstable. 11-12: The karma that results in the enhancement of parts above the navel is auspicious, while the karma that causes the deterioration of parts below the navel is inauspicious. 13-14: The karma that generates a sweet voice in the listener is melodious, whereas the karma that produces displeasing sounds in the listener is harsh. 15-16: The karma that is pleasing to everyone even when no benefit is provided is beautifully deemed, and the karma that fails to please everyone despite providing benefits is deemed unfortunate. 17-18: The karma that causes speech to gain significant respect is praiseworthy, while the karma that fails to do so is not praiseworthy. 19-20: The karma that results in fame and praise in the world is considered famous, whereas the karma that does not yield such recognition is infamous.
Eight Types of Karmas: 1. The karma that results in the body not receiving heavy or light effects but instead leads to a state of being neither heavy nor light is termed as neither heavy nor light. 2. The karma that brings about harmful parts such as repulsive teeth or oral ulcers is classified as injurious. 3. The karma that leads someone to incapacitate others through vision or speech is termed as obstructive. 4. The karma that governs the inhaling and exhaling of breath is classified as respiratory. 5-6: The karma regulating the warmth of the body is termed as the brightening effect, while the karma regulating cold illumination is termed as the illuminating effect. 7. The karma that properly arranges the limbs in the body is termed as structuring. 8. The karma that grants the ability to establish dharma and pilgrimages is associated with a Tirthankara.
Types of Gotra Karmas: 1. The karma that gives birth in a lineage that attains prestige is considered high lineage, and 2. The karma that leads to birth in a lineage that does not attain prestige despite possessing potential is termed low lineage.
Five Types of Antaray Karmas: The types of karma that create obstacles (vighna) by giving or taking something, whether once or repeatedly, and disrupt capabilities are classified as follows: donation-obstructing, gain-obstructing, enjoyment-obstructing, consumption-obstructing, and vitality-obstructing.
